Top Seeds to Meet in Men's Doubles Final

Top seeds Jeff Coetzee and Wesley Moodie will meet second seeds Jamie Murray and Kevin Ullyett in the final of the Estoril Open.

In Friday’s early semifinal, Murray and Ullyett recovered from a set down to defeat third seeds Frantisek Cermak and Jordan Kerr 3-6, 6-4, 10-6. The British/Zimbabwean duo actually won four points less in the encounter, but came out on top after 1hr., 16mins to reach their first final together.

The 22-year-old Murray was a quarterfinalist here on his debut last year with Eric Butorac, while the 35-year-old Ullyett was a semifinalist in 2001 with Wayne Black when the event was held in Mallorca. Murray was a titlist earlier in the season with Max Mirnyi at Delray Beach (d. Bryan/Bryan); Ullyett is searching for his first ATP-level title of the campaign.

Coetzee/Moodie joined them in the final after a 5-7, 6-4, 10-6 victory over Yves Allegro and Nicolas Mahut.

No. 20 Coetzee and No. 30 Moodie are searching for their first team title. They finished runners-up in Doha at the beginning of the campaign and reached the semifinals at the Australian Open and ATP Masters Series Miami.
