The new Eden has been opened after 18 months of construction, the celebration happened on 7 May at 19 o clock. In the exhibition match which was a part of the programme Slavia defeated Oxford University Association Football Club 5-0 in a game which was played in amazingly beautiful athmosphere. Many former players played in red-white jersey, for example Patrik Berger, Pavel Rehak or Lubos Kubik. Please have a look at the photogallery.   more »

he new stadium Eden will be opened on 7 May at 19:00. It is the largest multi-functional sporting and social site in the Czech Republic. Slavia Prague will play a friendly match against its first ever English opponent - Oxford University Association Football Club which they faced for the first time on 28 March 1899. After the ceremony and national anthem the first ever football match will be played. The friedly game played with a shortened time of 2x 35 minutes will be a historic replay of the game from the sunrise of Slavia history. On 28 Martch 1899 Slavía had to pay fourty pounds as a starting bonus to the opponents which beat them 3-0. The match was a great event for Prague visited by marshall prince Lobkowitz and Prague archibishop Schonborn.   more »

PRAGUE – Slavia earned three points in the game against Liberec. The winner was scored by Zdenek Senkerik, who could have sealed the win, but missed the penalty. The red-whites had three chances in the first half, but none of them ended in a goal. The decisive moment came in 67th minute when Zdenek Senkerik capitalised from the difficult situation and rebounded the shot to the net. The game was also a great return of Dusan Svento back to football. Unluckily Slavia lost David Strihavka who injured his shoulder and will miss the rest of the season.   more »

Plzen 0 – 0 Slavia

PLZEN – A nightmare game in Plzen ended in a goalless draw. Slavia pressure in the second half brought two penalty kicks for the away team, but the winner did not come from any of them. The first one was missed by David Kalivoda, the unlucky man who was expelled in the derby game, the second by Mickael Tavares whose weak shot was saved by the home keeper Krbecek. Slavia lost the top position in the table, but still have better head-to-head score with Sparta which would mean that if levelled at the end of the competition, the red-whites would be ahead of their rivals.   more »

PRAHA/STRAHOV - The famous derby ended in a 1-1 draw, the sold out stadium saw a tactical battle with not that many chances, but struggles and police fighting with fans in the stands. Slavia took the lead in the second half, when David Kalivoda converted the cross from Tijany Belaid into a spectacular opener. Celebrating Kalivoda forgot that he had already been book and took off his jersey and saw a red card. Slavia were down to ten men and were not able to withstand the pressure from the visitors, who created chances and Michal Kadlec equalised in 74th minute. „We were very nervous in the first half, we allowed Sparta into several chances, which were saved by our keeper Vaniak, the second half we started as a better team, we scored but lost the scorer who was excluded. I can hardly understand what he has done, it was a pupil´s mistake,“ Karel Jarolim said.   more »

Zlin 0 - 1 Slavia

ZLIN – Slavia returned to the top spot ahead of the famous derby against Sparta after an important away win 1-0 in Zlin. The game was decided by Macedonian forward Goce Toleski who scored the only goal on 40th minute after the pass from Marek Jarolim. The game was played on very hard muddy and snowy pitch.It was hard game for both teams, the ball often stopped on the snow and mud. The early loss was for Slavia as the captain Erich Brabec was booked and will miss the derby as this was his fourth booking of the league season.   more »

Slavia 2 - 1 Bohemians 1905

PRAGUE – Mickael Tavares spectacultar heel-shot decided the small Prague derby in the very last minute. Slavia took an early lead, it was the French midfielder Tavares who sent the header into the post and the bounced ball was kicked into own net by Ivan Hasek. The lead lasted only for half an hour though. The mistake of Matej Krajcik resulted in a cross into Slavia penalty box and Skoda equalised. The pressure from the table leader came after the break. Jaroslav Cerny and David Strihavka saw their attempts saved by the Bohemians keeper. Tavares headed the ball wide in another good position. The decisive moment came on 89 minute. The free kick of Cerny was kicked away by the Bohemians keeper and stopped by Martin Abraham who passed the ball to Milan Ivana, his shot was slow but found Mickael Tavares who sealed the three points for Slavia in a beautiful style.   more »

Ostrava 2 – 2 Slavia

OSTRAVA – The spectacular match at Bazaly stadium ended in a 2-2 draw. 17 thousand fans saw Slavia taking the lead in the second half, when Milan Ivana and Jaroslav Cerny prepared an easy shooting position for David Strihavka. Banik came back when they beat up Slavia offside trap and Magera equalised. The drama was not over yet though. Martin Abraham´s premier Slavia goal secured the lead for the visitors, Abraham capitalised from a great back-pass from Goce Toleski. Three minutes before the end the stadium saw the last goal of the day and it was equaliser again – Magera hit from the edge of the penalty box with a precise placed shot to make things level.   more »

Slavia 2 – 0 SIAD Most

PRAGUE – Slavia earned three points in the game against bottom club of the Czech table SIAD Most. The first goal was scored from a close distance by Jan Blazek on 39 minute. Blazek capitalised on a blunder of Most midfielder Stozicky. Slavia had more possession during the entire game, but in the first half the chances of Marek Jarolim and Martin Latka were not taken. The substitute Mickael Tavares scored the second goal of Slavia after only two minutes on the field. „I am not the one who scores many goals, that is why I am pleased with my premier goal in Slavia. It was after the corner kick, I was uncovered at the further post and had an easy job to head the ball in,“ the French midfielder said to slavia website after the game.   more »
