Warming Up to Spring

If we paint on the playground it feels a little bit more like playing...

Homework outside is a little less stressful...

Repainting wire hanging baskets for the school's new outdoor garden space.

Working on Brennemann's revitalized outdoor garden space has been fun! So far we have sanded down timbers for raised garden beds, sanded metal sculptures, and sanded and repainted the hanging baskets. The kids are having fun and learning so much about repurposing materials instead of just buying everything new and throwing things away.

Field Trip to ArtImpact Exhibit at Beacon Street Gallery

On Saturday, April 5, students, parents, and teachers took a bus downtown to our gallery to view ArtImpact, a 25 year retrospective of arts in communities, which included several pieces from our programs at Brennemann and Stewart. After lunch, students shared information about the pieces with the group.

Building a castle out of recycled materials.

So fun even the parents get in on the action!

Making of Native Soul

The students in 2nd grade and up worked with Artist in Residence James Spurgeon (Nerd) to create a collaborative painting for our ArtImpact show.

Prepping the canvas for some outside painting.

Mr. Nerd has done some spray painting on the piece so all students must wear masks to watch.

Check back for images of the completed piece!
