ALBUQUERQUE—Rep. Tom Udall, D-N.M., says he will cast his superdelegate vote for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

Udall was the last of New Mexico's 12 Democratic Party superdelegates to pledge support to Obama or his opponent, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Udall told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he remained neutral because Clinton won New Mexico's party-run presidential caucus in February, but Obama won Udall's 3rd Congressional District.

Udall says he'll vote for Obama because Obama is now the clear nominee.

Udall is giving up his congressional post to run for the U.S Senate seat being vacated by Republican Pete Domenici.

Superdelegates are the party and elected officials who will automatically attend the party's national convention and can support whomever they choose, regardless of what happens in the primaries and caucuses.
