Latest Healthy Dessert Craze: Yogen Früz

While traveling abroad a while back, I came to know and love Yogen Früz. But have you tried it?

OK, the name sounds weird right -- So what is it? Well, Yogen Früz is an amazingly delish frozen yogurt treat that also contains probiotics, the bacteria that's good for you. You can get low-fat, non-fat or no-sugar-added frozen yogurt and have your choice of fruit blended in and it's really tasty. Yogen Früz has stores all over the world, but none in the U.S. until now. They're finally opening one up over here and guess where? San Francisco! Yipee! I am sure it's going to be a huge hit, which means if you're not lucky enough to live in the city by the bay, I'm sure more will be popping up soon. Check it out online at YogenFruz.com.

OMG I've been eating this since I was a kid!!! We had it in Canada since the 80s I'm sure of it--and people used to pick on it for being "ghetto ice cream"

I have to go google now to see LOL!

I was right...just found this on the corporate website!

In 1986, two young brothers opened a retail outlet at the Promenade Mall in Toronto, Canada. It was a modest effort: a small store with a great design and a strong concept that impressed one of Canada's largest mall operators who wisely decided to take a chance on a new tenant with no track record. A concept was developed that consumers immediately loved, and a strong following pursued. Today Yogen Früz has grown to be a world leader in the frozen dessert category, with over 4000 locations operating in 80 countries around the world.

Aww I love Promenade Mall. I used to go there when I lived in Thornhill. Back on track though, I haven't had Frogurt since I was last at Ikea, and the deliciousness of it is radiating through my screen. Must resist impulse to lick screen!

Better than PinkBerry, which is made from powder and isn't technically yogurt.

I'm a big fan of Tasti Delite, but it doesn't have probiotics like this does. Sticking out tongue

Yes, I tried this in El Salvador many years back..

I can't remember the taste but I agree with the clam - it's probably better than Pinkberry. Just one of these days I had some Pinkberry and it did taste powdery. Can't wait til Yogen Fruz hits the US - it actually has all it's nutritional content online and does have probiotics.

Bring on the YogenFruz! Sticking out tongue

Mmmm this sounds awesome! There was a place in Italy when I was there that had a sort of yogurt thing that reminds me of this and it was so good! Sweet but a with a little tang, exactly what I'd imagine actual yogurt that's been frozen (instead of the super sweet regular fro-yo) would be. I hope they expand in the US! I'm also dying to try Tasti Delite, but sadly I don't think there are any near me!

I love Yogen Fruz! Whenever I get a craving for sweets at the mall, I head over to the stand to pick up a small Yogen Fruz. It might not be as healthy as not eating any sweets, but it's a big step from just regular ice cream! yum Smiling
