YP-1000 Nisin is a kind of naturally antibacterial peptide. It has been researched and produced by YPBio (ypbio@china.com) utilizing bio-tech means through many years study. And our more advanced R&D; of YP-1000 Nisin is honorably assigned as a key-tech of program of the Tenth Five-year-plan of China in 2002. (It is the highest grade high-tech in China.)
YP-1000 Nisin is a natural preservative & antimicrobial agent with high efficiency for foods and pharmaceuticals.
YP-1000 Nisin is a polypeptide produced by Lactococcus lactis. It consists of 34 amino acids. It is a natural antimicrobial agent and used as a natural food preservative with high efficiency, nontoxic, no harm to human and is free from side effects. Nisin is deemed to be a GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) substance in USA , and is assigned to be the number E-234£­natural preservative in European Union .

Antimicrobial property:
YP-1000 Nisin possesses anti-microbial activity against a wide range of
Gram-positive bacteria, particularly those that produce spores. Such as ALICYCLOBACILLUS SPP ¡¢
BACILLUS SPP¡¢CLOSTRIDIUM SPP¡¢DESULFOTOMACULUM SPP¡¢ENTEROCOCCUS SPP¡¢LACTOBACILLUS SPP¡¢ LEUCONOSTOC SPP¡¢LISTERIA SPP¡¢ MICROCOCCUS SPP¡¢ PEDIOCOCCUS SPP¡¢STAPHYLOCOCCUS SPP ¡¢SPOROLACTOBACILLUS SPP ¡­
It inhibits strains of the pathogen, such as Clostridium botulinum, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus haemolyticus, Listeria monocytogenes, Bacillus stearothermophilus, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus coagulans, Bacillus cereus, Bacillus Lichiniformis, Clostridium sporogenes, Clostridium bifermentum, Clostridium perfringens, Clostridium pasteurianum, Clostridium Thermosaccharohyticum, Clostridium tyobutyicum, Streptococcus agalactia, Streptococcus pyogenes, Micrococcus luteus, Lactobacillus breuis, actobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus casei, Lacftobacuillus plantarum, Lzactobacillus buchneri, Leuconostoc mesenteroides, Leuconostoc oenos, Pedococcus acidlactici, Pedococcus damnosus, Pedococcus pentosaceus, Enterococcus spp, ....and so on.
YP-1000 Nisin is also able to inhibit Gram-negative bacteria e.g. Salmonella spp, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonsa spp, Bacteroides spp, Actinobacillus spp, Klebsiella spp.

Safety:
YP-1000 Nisin is a natural preservative for foods. It was approved as a natural food preservative by most major food producing countries as well as with the Food and Agriculture Organization/World Health Organization (FAO/WHO) and the European Union.
It is designated as a GRAS substance in the USA and has specific approval in , among others , EU , Australasia and Macrocosm .
The European Union has assigned Nisin to be the number E234. Elsewhere it may be included on the product label as 'Nisin preservative', 'permitted preservative' or 'natural preservative', depending on local regulations.

Application:
As a food preservative , YP-1000 Nisin is used in a number of foods:

8. Dressings and sauces 9. High moisture/reduced fat foods

Function:
YP-1000 Nisin is an effective anti-microbial agent, using YP-1000 Nisin as food preservative can reduce the temperature of the heat processing and shorten the time of the heat processing required. It can enhance the quality and taste of food product, and significantly extend the shelf life of food. It can replace or partial replace chemical preservatives and meet consumer demand for food preserved with natural ingredients.
Direction for use:
YP-1000 Nisin has been used in a wide variety of food products alone or in combination with other preservatives (such as benzoic acid or sorbic acid). Directly or made into suspend solution first with boiled water ( and the better with acid solution) put it into food and stir well.
General dose of use: 30mg/kg-200mg/kg .

YP-95 Natamycin (Pimaricin) is an antifungal which can be used as antibiotic to treat most fungus infections.
YP-50 Natamycin is an natural antimicrobial food additive used to protect food from mold and yeast growth. Its application is reliable and safe to human body. It has been globally used in a variety of foods and beverages
Natamycin is deemed to be a GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) substance in USA , and is assigned to be the number E-235 - natural preservative in European Union .

Antimicrobial property:
Natamycin binds to and alters the fungal cell membrane so that vital structures inside the cell pass though the membrane and out of the cell. Without these structures, the fungal cells cannot survive.

Safety:
Animal studies on rabbits, dogs, and cows indicate that natamycin has no toxic effects even at high levels of ingestion. In addition, natamycin was found to have no reproductive or mutagenic qualities. Animal studies also show that natamycin is fat and water insoluble, allowing an estimated 90% to be excreted through normal gastrointestinal functions. Natamycin is approved for use by the FDA and has been widely used in Europe for over 35 years.
Natamycin is an approved food additive, but regulations regarding its usage differ from country to country. The joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives has set an acceptable daily intake of 0.3 mg per kg of body weight per day.

Functions:
YP-95 & YP-50 Natamycin are effective anti-microbial agents. Using YP-95 & YP-50 Natamycin as food preservatives can
·enhance the quality of food product, and significantly extend the shelf life of foods by preventing yeast and mould spoilage
·reduce product being recalled resulting from spoilage (and reduces manufacturing costs)
·replace or partial replace chemical preservatives and meet consumer demand for food preserved with natural ingredients.
·have no adverse flavour to foods (unlike sorbic acid which can impart a bitter taste)
·have stronger inhibitability compared to sorbic acid
·prevent formation of potentially carcinogenic mycotoxins
·cover a very broad spectrum of activity - most yeasts and moulds are sensitive to very low levels of the preservative (<1 - 40 ppm)
·do not act against bacteria - unlike sorbic acid : This makes it useful for food products such as cheese and dry sausages in which bacteria are key to the ripening process
·remain on food surface for a long time where contamination usually occurs
·be proven to be a safe antimycotic agent. Used in a variety of food products for more than 30 years. It has been approved as a food additive in over 40 countries
