Présentation Emmanuel Brunet-Jailly, LLB (Aix-en-Provence, 1983), MA, (Paris I - Sorbonne 1985, and Virginia Polytechnic and State University, 1988), Ph.D. (University of Western Ontario, 1999) is an Assistant Professor at the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. His key research areas are comparative urban governance, and the governance of cross-border regions, with a specific focus on comparative decentralization, horizontal and vertical governance, and the theorization of cross-border regions.
His research work has appeared or is forthcoming in six books, and 30 articles and book chapters in the following refereed journals and presses: Journal of Borderland Studies, Canadian Annual Review of Politics and Public Affair, Geopolitics, University of Ottawa Press, Queen's McGill University Press, University of Toronto Press, Institute of Public Administration of Canada, Canadian American Public Policy, International Journal of Economic Development, Rowan and Littlefield (Lanham, MD), Commonwealth Local Government Forum (London, UK), Hassleholm; (Sweden).
