FAMILY: Iguanodontidae .
ERA: Early Cretaceous ( Aptian - Albian 121 - 98.9 Ma ).
SIZE:
LOCATION: Asia .
FOSSILS: Complete skull, skull fragments, postcrania .
COMMENTS: This iguanodont has a higher snout and a wider and lower cropping beak with a larger number of replacement teeth, and probably represents the peak of development in skull complexity in ornithopods . These changes may be a response to tougher food, or a development to increase food gathering and processing efficiency.
SPECIES LIST:
A. kurzanovi Norman, 1998 ( type ), previously Iguanodon orientalis, Rozhdesvensky, 1952.
