Rent stars Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp will extend their stay in the musical through October 7. The pair's engagement began on July 30 and was scheduled to end on September 9. Box office grosses have doubled since their return.

Pascal originated the role of singer-songwriter Roger, for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor; Rapp created the role of documentary filmmaker Mark. Both actors played these parts in the show's original Off-Broadway production at New York Theatre Workshop and recreated them for the film version of the musical.

Written by Jonathan Larson, Rent won four Tony Awards in 1996, including Best Musical, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
