Cuppy’s Coffee & More, a specialty coffee and smoothie franchise, located in Fort Walton Beach, FL, announced that FranSynergy, Inc., an Alabama-based franchise support and consulting firm, lead by Dale Nabors, CEO, has acquired all of the corporate stock of the company.

Fast-growing national chain Cuppy's Coffee will be opening a drive-up stand at 4255 Tamiami Trail Monday.

Local franchisees Connie Harper and Phuong Atkins will be vending espresso drinks, smoothies, baked goods, and plain old American coffee, albeit made with real beans, rather than sawdust or whatever they're putting into supermarket blends these days.

Cuppy's Coffee & More will mark the grand opening of its first Pennsylvania store on Sept. 8 in the Chartiers Valley Shopping Center on Washington Pike, Bridgeville. The year-old, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.-based chain plans 20 to 30 more Pittsburgh area locations over the next five years; it has more than 40 stores open so far nationwide. Cuppy's makes specialty coffee beverages and natural fruit smoothies. The company said it is working with four potential local franchisees.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- As dairy prices rise, forcing Starbucks customers to shell out more for a grande decaf no-whip mocha, some small coffee stores are finding a way to outbrew the cappuccino king.

Starting Tuesday, Starbucks will raise U.S. prices on cappuccinos, lattes and other coffee drinks by about nine cents a cup to help offset soaring costs for milk and other commodities, according to the company.
