  • Reservations for shelter rentals may not be made until two months of the event date.  However, reservation for races can be made as much as one year in advance of the event date.
  • If you would like to use Audubon Park or Riverview without renting a shelter, there are areas for the general public to picnic—first-come, first served. Water and electricity are not provided. There is no charge; however, permits are required for parties of 50 or more people. Spacewalks MUST be approved by the Shelter Coordinator with proof of insurance, and a generator must be used for power.

    • 9am - 7pm from Memorial Day to Labor Day (Summer)
    • 9 am - 5pm from Labor Day to Memorial Day (Fall, Winter, Spring)

 Shelter #10 & Newman Bandstand

Located on Magazine, near the Gulf Clubhouse, and across the street from the Audubon Zoo. Shelter and bandstand rental is $550/day. Water and electricity are provided for cooking and small appliances. Generators must be used for spacewalks. Newman Bandstand is the only location in Audubon Park where amplified music is permitted. Music with profanity will not be tolerated.

 Shelter #11
Located on St Charles Avenue, near Exposition Blvd, directly across the street from Loyola University. Shelter rental is $300/day.  Water and electricity are provided for cooking and small appliances.  Generators must be used for spacewalks. There is a children’s playground next to the shelter.

 Shelter #12 
Located near the corner of St. Charles Ave. and Walnut St. Shelter rental is $125/day. Water and electricity are provided for cooking and small appliances.  Generators must be used for spacewalks. There is a children’s playground next to the shelter.

 

 

Park and Riverview Rules:

  1. Spacewalks are allowed. Users must provide a generator for power, and submit faxed certificate of insurance at least 10 days in advance of event.
  2. Amplified music is prohibited, except at Newman Bandstand. The City noise ordinance is enforced.
  3. Water slides are prohibited. No swimming pools.
  4. Restrooms are available to the general public.
  5. Groups are responsible for bagging and disposing of all trash.
  6. Consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited, by law, for any person under the age of 21.
  7. There is a permit fee of $25 for any gathering in the park or at the riverview for parties of fifty or more.
  8. No DJ's are allowed!
