Opera Queensland maintains a strong commitment to regional Queensland, taking the joy of opera to a great variety of communities and constituencies all across our expansive state with our annual Regional Tour.

In 2006 Die Fledermaus was enjoyed by audiences in 8 regional centres in Queensland, proving to be the Company's best selling regional tour ever! Then in 2007 The Food of Love concert tour hit the road from Mount Isa to Goondiwindi, proving to be an audience favourite.

Experiencing the joy of opera is by no means limited to being in a theatre - we present opera and music theatre performances in schools and at a wide variety of non-traditional public venues.

Primary Schools tour

Hansel & Gretel, an adaptation especially for primary students, offers a fantastic introduction to opera and theatrical story telling, and will be touring Queensland primary schools throughout 2007 and 2008.

Our 'magical bigtop' will be entertaining eight regional centres in August 2008. For more details visit The Magic Flute tour page.
