“Self Destruct In Five” is the new release and tour for Ballarat sons Epicure, one of the most successful independent acts for 2003/2004 .
Having supported international and Australian acts such as Live, Train, Pete Murray, The Beautiful Girls, Xavier Rudd, The Whitlams and Monique Brumby, and played to sell-out audiences at Big Day Out and the Falls Festival, Epicure are arguably one of Australia's best new talents. Continuously touring nationally since March, launching their debut album and playing to packed houses eager to hear their soaring soundscapes, Epicure would also have to go down as one of the hardest working independent bands of 2004.
The Ballarat five-piece head out on the road for the "Self Destruct In Five" Tour in October launching the new release "Self Destruct In Five" EP, the third official single from the critically acclaimed album “The Goodbye Girl”.
“The Goodbye Girl” has consistently charted in AIR's independent music charts since its release in March peaking at number 2. This follows three successful high rotation singles “Armies Against Me” and “Life Sentence”, which also both gained places in Triple J Hottest 100, and most recently “Firing Squad”.
Epicure's upcoming "Self Destruct in Five" release will feature a new version of the track, live tracks recorded at Triple J's Live at the Wireless earlier this year plus a taste of new material.
“Self Destruct In Five” is released October 11.
