Latvia's 90th anniversary information tent on Riga's Dome Square this weekend

14.08.2008

RIGA, Aug 14 (LETA) - This weekend, on August 16 and August 17, Riga's visitors and guests are invited to visit Latvia's 90th anniversary information tent at Riga's Dome Square.

This will be the tent's third stop, providing information about the events, which will take place during the jubilee celebrations in November, as well offering miscellaneous entertainment and artistic activities and quizzes, as LETA was informed by Defense Ministry's Organizational Department.

On August 16 the tent will be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will host a creative workshop for children, who will be invited to make their drawings for Latvia.

Starting from 3 p.m., a quiz on Latvia will be organized at the tent. Winners of the quiz will receive prizes, with the Latvia's 90th anniversary logo.

On August 17 the tent will be open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., inviting its visitors to create their own lanterns, which later will be used for the campaign "Light Bridges".

Over the weekend, the organizers of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Latvia have planned to gather people's stories about past celebrations of the nation's anniversary, as well as to collect recipes, submitted by residents on how to bake Latvia's anniversary cakes.

The last stop of Latvia's 90th anniversary tent will be on August 22, in Daugavpils.
