Hancocks Today

Hancocks has not changed a great deal - the principals of high standards of service and stocking only the finest pieces exemplified by Charles Hancock back in 1849 are still adhered to today; in fact it is our aim to improve upon those early high standards.

Hancocks is a family owned business run by a small team all specializing in different roles:

Stephen Burton is our Managing Director and is responsible for buying and trading.

Duncan Semmens is our Sales Director leading the sales team and manager of the shop.

Janie Burton is our Exhibitions Director responsible for show organisation and promotion.

Louise McGurl is our Administrative Director and oversees all the day to day workings of the company.

Amy Burton who after apprenticing in New York has joined the family business and is involved in buying, promotion, administration and good ideas!

Cora McKay is our bookkeeper accountant and keeper of the Hancocks “purse”!

Hancocks are proud to be invited to exhibit our fine antique jewelry and silverware at some of the most prestigious antique and art shows in both Europe and America and are constantly seeking out exquisite jewels to keep our stock fresh, interesting and of only the highest quality.

Due to years of experience ingrained and inherited by our current team there is nothing in the Jewellery and Silver world that we are unable to do – indeed we love to be challenged!
