Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world, the highest peak in Africa and member of the seven summits is the Mount Everest of the small man, because everybody of good health can climb the 5895m high peak without any mountaineering experience.
One of the most beautiful and one of the three easiest routes to Uhuru Peak is the Machame route, which is not that overrun like the
Coca Cola Highway - the Marangu route. The trek takes seven days in total - five days from Machame Gate to the summit and two days from the peak to the Mweka Gate.
