The White House Council on Environmental Quality Interagency Ocean Policy Group (IOPG) welcomed individuals from across the country to submit comments on the U.S. Commission on Ocean Policy Final Report. The comment period ran through November 1, 2004. Because the IOPG had access to the public comments submitted to the Commission on its Preliminary Report, which was released on April 20, 2004, the IOPG was seeking specific comments on the changes introduced in the Final Report.

The term 'public comment' refers to any written statement submitted by a member of the public to the IOPG. These statements could be submitted via e-mail, faxed or mailed to the IOPG. Each statement was considered a formal comment and entered in the IOPG record. Click on the link below to view the archive of public comments received by the IOPG.
