If you think someone is committing fraud against one of EDD's programs, it is important that you let us know about it. All allegations of fraud are taken seriously, and you can remain anonymous. Please include as much information as possible. All information will be maintained in a fully secure environment.

The EDD offers several options for you to report fraud:

If your allegation involves fraud in the following programs please call the Agencies listed below. EDD does not handle these types of fraud.

  • Workers Compensation - Contact the California State Department of Insurance at 1-800-927-4357.
  • Social Security Insurance - Contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-269-0271.

The Employment Development Department's strong emphasis on fraud prevention helps reduce opportunities for fraud to take place and its fraud deterrence activities persuade individuals that they should not commit fraud because of the likelihood of detection and punishment.
