CENTCOM commander directs review of investigation

Border incident investigation initiated

MacDill AFB, Fla. (June 16, 2008) – Lt. Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, Acting Commander U.S. Central Command, directed Friday that Maj. Gen. Jeffrey J. Schloesser, Commander, Combined Joint Task Force 101, assign a general officer to head the U.S. portion of an investigation, along with Pakistani and Afghan military officials, into the June 10, 2008, attack in the vicinity of the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
