`Hockey Day' in Michigan Set for February 14
The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced today the fourth annual Hockey Day in Michigan will take place on February 14, 2009. The CCHA, FSN Detroit, the Detroit Red Wings and the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association will once again join forces to bring a coast-to-coast celebration of the sport of hockey to participants and fans across the Great Lakes State. Free 'Have Fun, Play Hockey' Clinic at Ferris State September 20
The CCHA, FSN, RBK, the Detroit Red Wings, Tim Hortons and Perani's Hockey World are hosting a "Have Fun, Play Hockey" clinic at Ewigleben Ice Arena, home to the Ferris State Bulldogs hockey team. The free clinic, open to boys and girls ages 5-11, who have not played organized hockey, runs Saturday, Sept. 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Pre-registration is required. [+]
CCHA To Unveil Shootout in 2008-09 Campaign
The CCHA announced today that an NHL style three-player shootout will be used in the 2008-09 season to determine a winner for all of the 168 regular-season conference games that are tied after 60 minutes of regulation play and five minutes of overtime. [+]
