Come ride with us through the beautiful Lehigh River Gorge. This is our most popular 3 - 5 hour downhill biking daytrip. You ride along the slight downhill grade of an abandoned railroad bed and follow the river all the way through the Lehigh Gorge State Park.

As you pedal at your own pace, you will see fantastic rock formations, tumbling waterfalls, and abundant wildlife. You can picnic at one of the little picnic stops along the trail, explore the ruined locks of the former Lehigh Canal, or marvel at the Penn Haven Planes - a relic from the early railroad era. This trip begins and ends at our Adventure Center. Complete shuttle service available for your trip.

Introducing, for your convenience, a new and less hurried way to bike the Lehigh Gorge Rail-Tail.  We are proud to announce the opening of Pocono Whitewaters Trailhead shop – located directly at the trailhead of the Lehigh Gorge in the quaint little town of White Haven.

On Weekends, you can now arrive at our White Haven Trailhead Location anytime up to 2pm, immediately get on your bike and head off to explore the trail.  Our shuttles will pick you up at the end of the trail so it’s all downhill riding!

A 100% Downhill Trail

If you do not have the time or inclination to pedal the whole Lehigh River Gorge Rail Trail, try our mid-way ride.  The mid-way is a pleasant 12 to 15 mile, 100% gentle downhill ride lasting approximately 2 to 4 hours. 

This mid-way adventure allows you to arrive later and have a very enjoyable afternoon OR  the reverse – ride in the morning and still make that evening engagement.  To make it easy for you, shuttles are provided back to your car at our base.

Switchback Railway

2nd Railroad in America

This narrow-gauge gravity and mule-powered railway was built to haul coal and became one of America's leading tourist attractions...second only to Niagara Falls. Today the tracks are long gone, the trees have grown back, and the trail has been turned into a National Historic Trail. The Switchback is an extremely pleasant 9-mile downhill ride that follows Mauch Chunk Creek and ends at the 19th Century Opera House in Jim Thorpe. We shuttle you to your starting point and you ride back to your car in historic Jim Thorpe.

Specialty Rentals

Trail-A-Bike – The trail-a-bike allows parents and children alike, to have fun, and be active, together! The Trail-a-Bike has a maximum height of 40” and max weight of 85 lbs.

Child Seat – If you are a new parent and want to pedal with your infant or toddler, consider using a child seat.  A child seat keeps your child comfortable and secure, even on the trails.  Child seats have a  maximum weight capacity of 40lbs.

(Note, in order to bike with us, child must be able to hold his head up with a helmet on)

Dog Carrier – Don’t want to leave your favorite pup at home, have no worries – bring him along on your bike ride!
