The guys who wrote this song are from Connecticut. They were in a band called 'The Chateaus' when they wrote it, but it wasn't released until much later. The band 'Steam' was formed after it became an unexpected hit.

heard this song from the phone i called this morning were are the lyrics to the end they just say good bye but he goes on and says give it to me girl and ad lib but what does he say he had me so confused as to who the hell this was but then again it was first thing this morning and it was a doctor i was calling
