Overview: One of Clemson's top returning defenders and a leading candidate for all-conference honors...preseason second-team All-ACC according to Athlon and Lindy's, and third-team by Phil Steele...listed as the 16th-best defensive end in the nation by Lindy's...ranked in the top 10 in the ACC in tackles for loss, sacks, and caused fumbles...had one of the top plays of the season when he intercepted an N.C. State pass on the last play of the game at the Clemson goal line to give the Tigers a 26-20 victory...one of the most improved players in the ACC among defensive players; he had just 10 tackles as a sophomore in 2003, but improved to 48 as a junior...went from one tackle for loss in 2003 to 14 in 2004...enters his senior year with 15 career tackles for loss and six sacks...veteran of over 500 snaps on defense, as he has already played 34 games...has missed just one game the last two years and just three in his career...made a big move in terms of improvement during the December practice for the Peach Bowl against Tennessee; he then recorded his first career sack in that game...top-125 player coming out of high school; USA Today listed him as one of the top-16 defensive ends in the nation.

Howard were out with injuries...had three tackles at Wake Forest...had a career-high four tackles in the win at South Carolina.
