Titans trade up, take Hall with top pickDelaware grad goes first; Two U of Albany alumni in top fiveR.A. Philly Outsider's Guide Editor in Chief The New York Titans traded up for the top pick in Saturday's National Lacrosse League Entry Draft, then used it to scoop up Jordan Hall from the University of Delaware. New York acquired the selection from Boston, surrendering the third-overall pick and Matt Alrich for the still-unnamed team's first- and third-round selections (1st- and 29th-overall). Philadelphia followed by choosing Merrick Thomson, one of two University of Albany products to go in the top five. Frank Resetarits was the other, selected fifth-overall by San Jose. Boston used the pick it acquired from New York to snag Craig Point of Onondaga Community College, then sent him to Minnesota in a four-way deal involving Toronto and Rochester. Trading out of the first round, the Rock landed Kasey Beirnes, while Rochester added a first-rounder by shipping Jack Reid to Boston. Buffalo actively wheeled and dealed, making a number of trades. The Bandits sent first- and second-round picks to Calgary for defenseman Ian Llord and a third-round selection, adding another wrinkle to this summer's blockbuster three-way trade between the two teams and Philadelphia. In a separate trade, Buffalo re-acquired Ken Montour from the Wings, marking the goaltender's third stint in Buffalo. Philadelphia, meanwhile, sent a third-round pick this year and a conditional third-rounder next year to Boston in order to re-acquire forward Jake Bergey, who was selected by Boston in the expansion draft earlier this summer. The draft was held at Pepsi Center in Denver, home arena of the NLL's Colorado Mammoth. Full draft results follow (when applicable, original owner of the draft pick in noted in parentheses). ## TEAM SELECTION -- ------------------ --------------------------------------- 1 New York (Bos) Jordan Hall - University of Delaware 2 Philadelphia (Por) Merrick Thomson - University of Albany 3 Boston (NY) Craig Point - Onondoga CC 4 Calgary (Phi) Dane Dobbie - Burnaby, BC 5 San Jose (Chi) Frank Resetarits - Univ. of Albany 6 Portland (Edm) Tyler Codron - Coquitlam, BC 7 San Jose (Tor) Tom Johnson - Bellarmine University 8 Rochester (SJ) Matt MacLeod - Orangeville, ON 9 Minnesota Justin Norbraten - Bellarmine Univ. 10 Calgary (via Buf) Peter McFetridge - Burnaby, BC 11 Boston (Buf) Matt Lyons - Orangeville, ON 12 Chicago (Col) Kevin Ross - Canisius College 13 New York (Arz) Mitch Belisle - Cornell University 14 Rochester Andrew Potter - St. Catharines, ON 15 Edmonton (Bos) Steve Hutchins - Whitby, ON 16 Portland (via Cal) Cory Conway - Stony Brook University 17 New York Rory Smith - Brampton, ON 18 Minnesota (Phi) Brandon Swamp - SUNY Potsdam 19 Chicago Cory Stringer - Hamilton, ON 20 Boston (Edm) Keegan Davidson - Notre Dame de Namur 21 Toronto Mark Scherman - Notre Dame de Namur 22 Calgary (SJ) Jamie Lincoln - Burnaby, BC 23 Minnesota Marc Jackson - Whitby, ON 24 Portland (Cal) Peter Jacobs - Akwesasne, ON 25 Philadelphia (Buf) David Mitchell - Cornell University 26 Colorado Nathan Sanderson - Rutgers University 27 Minnesota (Arz) Chris Courtney - Six Nations, ON 28 Boston (Roc) Curtis Ptolemy - Burnaby, BC 29 New York (Bos) Rob Smith - University of Delaware 30 Colorado (Por) Dylan Llord - St. Catharines, ON 31 San Jose (NY) Steve Panarelli - Syracuse Univ. 32 Boston (Phi) Alex Smith - University of Delaware 33 Chicago Jake Byrne - Johns Hopkins University 34 Edmonton John Lintz - Coquitlam, BC 35 Toronto Matt Baker - Orangeville, ON 36 New York (SJ) Jamison Koesterer - Johns Hopkins U. 37 Philadelphia (Min) Drew Westervelt - UMBC 38 Calgary (via Buf) Scott DeFransesco - Mississuaga, ON 39 Buffalo Chris Lalonde - Wallaceburg, ON 40 Colorado Matt Wilson - Coquitlam, BC 41 Philadelphia (Arz) Jim Borell - University of Maryland 42 Arizona (Roc) Bryan Safarik - Wingate University 43 Boston Greg Downing - Fairfield University 44 Portland Joel Weber - Whitby, ON 45 Edmonton (NY) Steve Conrad - Clarington, ON 46 San Jose (Phi) Tyler Richards - Coquitlam 47 Chicago Matt Dasinger - Salisbury 48 Edmonton Dan Hartzell - St. Andrews College 49 Toronto Tyler Worden - Whitby, ON 50 New York (SJ) Ricky Smith 51 Minn.
