This former gas works site was transformed into a valuable 6 hectare green space from the late 1950’s onwards. This rich inner city oasis offers a haven for the public who desire an escape from the surrounding urban development. Despite its size and simple design, the area incorporates all that an urban park should offer. The park provides for those who seek recreational or passive pursuits. It has a woodland area, walled garden, pond, games area and a flower meadow. Additionally, Hackney city farm is situated at the south eastern end of the site
