'Aladdin' tops Annies
In ceremonies Friday, the record-setting film scored four awards, sweeping the individual achievement in animation category. Fox's "The Simpsons" earned two awards.
Trophies for individual achievement in animation went to "Aladdin" co-director Ron Clements, storyboard supervisor Ed Gombert and supervising animator of the Genie, Eric Goldberg.
"Aladdin" was also honored as top animated feature film.
Voice maestro Dan Castellaneta received an individual achievement nod for his work as the voices of Homer Simpson and Krusty the Clown on "The Simpsons." The groundbreaking series also received the top award for an animated program.
Coca Cola's "Polar Bears" got the nod for commercial animation.
The Winsor McCay Award, for significant individual contribution to the field of animation, went to Roy E. Disney, George Dunning and Jack Zander.
