NCGA Internet Web Site Management
(Adopted April 2000; Revised July 2005)

The North Carolina General Assembly (NCGA) recognizes that the Internet provides a useful means of providing information about the legislative process to the citizens of North Carolina. Electronic communication also facilitates the exchange of information between elected officials and their constituents. The NCGA abides by the highest standards of quality and responsibility in its management of the NCGA Web site available at http://www.ncleg.net.

The NCGA web site is intended to provide a variety of information including information about legislators, committee assignments, text and history of bills, state statutes, daily calendars, redistricting information, staff reports, personnel openings, audio for House and Senate Chambers and Appropriations and Finance Committee rooms, and other miscellaneous public information.

Information posted on the NCGA web site is limited to matters in the public interest and excludes partisan and campaign related subjects. Each member is permitted one link, located on the member's NCGA profile page, to an outside web site maintained by the member, where additional information about the member may be posted. The opening screen of the member maintained web site shall be constituent service oriented and not of a partisan or campaign nature. When a site visitor accesses a link to an outside web site, a notice of leaving the NCGA web site is required. Technical support for the NCGA web site is provided by the web team of the Information Systems Division (ISD).
