The Couch Was Narrow...
*^*^*^*^*^**^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
The couch was
narrow, but they were lying very close.
Murdock held Face in his arms, Face’s cheek nestled against
his bare chest. Pressed against him
with firm hands, holding tight.
They’d been kissing.
Done right, kissing can last almost forever. And they both knew how to do it right. They’d taken turns stealing each other’s
breath away, gasping in great mouthfuls of each other’s sweetness, tasting each
other’s tongues.
They’d given chaste kisses, lips pressing against soft lips,
gently.
They’d french kissed like teenagers just figuring out how
desperately they need each other and not believing in tomorrow.
They’d kissed in all each other’s favorite ways. (Who knew that Face would melt when Murdock
kissed his face all over, eyelids, temples, cheeks? Who knew that Murdock would be moved almost to weeping when Face
stroked his hair back with his knuckles, touching lips delicately against his
lover’s lips, taking infinite care, offering infinite gentleness?)
Sometimes, kissing led them further. Led to stroking and stripping and pressing
against each other, pressing into each other.
Sometimes, and that was glorious.
This time, it had led to holding each other. And that was glorious in its own right. A more subtle glory, but a glory
nonetheless.
Face breathed in Murdock’s warm scent and rubbed his cheek
against the comfort of dark chest hair and a steady heart. The couch was narrow, and he would fall if
Murdock let go of him. But Murdock wouldn’t. His lips felt swollen from Murdock’s kisses,
and he smiled to himself. Such sweet
kisses. Such sweet love. He ached with it sometimes, just ached with
loving and being loved.
Murdock rested his cheek against Face’s honey gold
hair. Felt the reassuring weight of his
lover in his arms. Face’s skin was
smooth and cool beneath his hands, and Murdock drew him even closer, to keep
him warm. His lips felt swollen, from
Face’s kisses, and he smiled to himself.
Such sweet kisses. Such sweet love. The love he felt for Face filled him, and
sometimes it burst out in small, stolen caresses.
“Other room?” Murdock murmured softly, running his fingers
along the curve of Face’s hip.
Face shook his head.
Laughed a little (and Murdock laughed back). Burrowed deeper into Murdock’s embrace.
The room was cool, but they were warm in each other’s
arms. The couch was narrow, but they were
lying very close. They fell asleep
there, holding each other tight.
