Shahrukh picks what Akshay dumps

Director Priyadarshan and actor Akshay Kumar’s combination is always a hit on silver screen. Hera Pheri, Phir Hera Pheri are some of the films that did a good business at the box-office. But Priyan’s next venture Billo Barber did not sound interesting to Akshay and the role went to SRK. He not only accepted to act in the film but also decided to produce it.

Shahrukh too admits that the role was first offered to Akshay and when he declined the offer, the role came to him, he was the second choice for it. Billoo Barber which is a remake of a Malayalam film (Kadha Parayaumbol) attracted him so much that he took the initiative to produce it. The story is based on Krishna played by Shahrukh and his friend Sudama, played by Irrfan Khan.

There are many actresses who have signed in and off from the project. Ameesha Patel, Juhi Chawla and Vidya Balan said goodbye to the film where they had to play the role of a mother of two kids of Irrfan Khan. Shahrukh and Irfan Khan, Lara Dutta, Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav and Asrani are cast in Billoo Barber. Deepika and Kareena will be seen in a special item song.
