RULES GOVERNING FEMALE BOXING

Defense of the Title

1.1 Every female Champion recognized by the North American Boxing Association for Women (NABA), must defend her Title every six (6) months (Mandatory Defense) against the highest available and willing contender. If the Champion wishes to defend her title between mandatory defenses, she may do so against any rated boxer with the approval of the Championship Committee.

1.2 A Champion recognized by the NABA shall not participate in a Non-Title fight, unless she has applied for and has been granted Special Permission. If the Champion participates in a Non-Title fight without Special Permission, the title in the Champion’s division, may be declared Vacant.

1.3 If the Champion recognized by the NABA, fails to comply with her obligation to defend her Title on the date indicated by the Regulations, the Title in her division will be declared Vacant, unless the Champion is not available due to medical reasons.

1.4 When the Champion is not available to defend her Title, the Championship Committee may call for an Interim Championship Bout, between the two highest and willing contenders. The Interim Champion has the same obligations as the Champion in terms of Rules and Regulations.

1.5 When the Champion is ready to resume fighting, she must defend the Title against the Interim Champion. Negotiations between the World Champion and the Interim Champion shall begin as soon as the Champion declares herself available.

Vacant Title

2.1 When the Title, for whatever reason, is declared vacant, the Championship Committee shall call on the two highest and willing contenders, to participate in a Championship bout.

Conflicts with Local Laws

3.1 When the NABA rules and regulations are in conflict with the Local Boxing Commission rules, the Local Commission Rules and Regulations shall apply.

Application for Sanction of a Title Fight

All Applications for sanction of a Title Fight must be accompanied by a signed declaration by the Promoter and respective Boxers, undertaking that the Rules and Regulations of the World Boxing Association will govern the fight.

The Application for sanction of a World Boxing Association Title fight must also include: a) Promoter’s name b) Date and Place c) Copy of signed fight contracts for both Boxers.

 

CHAMPIONSHIP CONTESTS

The following rules should be followed in any Female championship contest in addition to those general rules that could by apply for Female boxing. Las siguientes reglas seran aplicadas en todo combate de titulo Femenino ademas de las reglas existents en la AMB, que puedan ser aplicadas al boxeo femenino para combates de campeonatos mundiales.

 
  1. All World Title bouts shall be scheduled for no more than ten (10) rounds of two (2) minutes duration each. Todos los combates de Titulo Mundial seran pactados a diez (10) rounds de dos (2) minutos de duracion.
  2. Female Boxers shall be rated  according to the different division mentioned in the Appendix A. Las Boxeadoras seran clasificadas en distintas categories de acuerdo al apartado A
  3. Female boxers shall wear breast and groin protectors. Las boxeadoras deberan usar protectors para el pecho y pelvis.
  4. Glove Size: Female boxers shall wear 8-oz. gloves up to 147 lbs. included, and 10-oz. gloves over 147 lbs. La medida de los guantes sera la siguiente. Hasta 147lbs inclusive usaran guantes de 8 oz. por encima de 147 se usara 10 oz. gloves.
  5. Female boxers shall provide a negative pregnancy test prior to each championship bout in addition to all other medical tests required by the local boxing authorities. Las boxeadoras deberan presenter el resultado negative del test de embarazo ademas de todos los examenes medicos que sea requieridos por las authoridades locales, antes de cada combate de campeonato mundial.
  6. Female boxers shall use no facial cosmetics and they should have their hair secured with a soft and non-abrasive material. Las boxeadoras no deberan usar ningun tipo de maqillaje en la cara y deberan tener el cabello sujetado con una cinta o banda elastica.
  7. The minimum age to compete for the world title shall be 18 years old. La edad minima para combater por el tituloi mundial sera de 18 anos.
 

These are general rules that apply to female boxing only. Over and above these rules, female boxers are also required to abide by the rules of professional boxing in every jurisdiction and the applicable rules of NABA.

Estas reglas se aplicaran al boxeo femenino solamente. Ademas las boxeadoras se deberan regir por las reglamentaciones vigentes en las distintas jurisdicciones y la reglas de la AMB que sean aplicables.

In addition to the above fees the promoter is required to pay the following:

  1. Round-trip airfare (coach) for Supervisor.

  2. Transportation from and to airport for Supervisor.

  3. Hotel Accommodations on an event site should the event take  place in a casino/hotel setting. If in a different setting, a reputable hotel as close to the event site as possible. Transportation to the event; should the event not take place at the hotel of the Supervisor stay.

  4. Complimentary food  for the Supervisor for their stay.

  5. A ringside seat for the Supervisor to view the event. 

Note:  Items a) to e) apply to all officials. Fees are required to be paid by the promoter 15 days prior to the date of the Championship Fight. Supervisor must have access to hold a rules meeting at the end of the weigh-in. All officials involved in the Championship bout must attend.

   

CONSENT AND WAIVER - NABA

I desire to voluntary engage in a boxing contest sanctioned for the NABA title.

In consideration of your sanctioning contest, I hereby, for my self, my heirs, executors, administrator and assigns waive release any and all rights to claim for damages I may or might have against the NABA, it's officers, directors or employees, for  any injury or damage suffered by me during my participation in, and/or arising from traveling to and/or returning from the below listed boxing event.

I understand and agree that while the referee or the physician may be approved or designated by the NABA, neither is employed by the NABA. I fully understand that I assume all responsibility for any injury that I may incur in these boxing bout.

I have received a complete medical examination by my physician which  indicates that I am medically clear to participate in this match and further indicated that I am free of communicable disease including, HIV and Hepatitis B.

I am not aware of any medical condition that would limit or prohibit me  from engaging in this boxing match. In addition, I also understand and appreciate that participation in boxing carries a risk to me of serious injury and with my full knowledge of these risks involved in boxing for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, next of kin, successors and assigns hereby waive and release the NABA and it's officers, directors or employees from any and all claims, potential claims, damages, court costs and attorney's fees that may arise in whole or part, directly or indirectly, from my participation in or as a result of this boxing match and I further indemnify and hold harmless the NABA, it's officers, directors or employees from any such claim that I or my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors or assigns may have or assert for damages, court cost and attorney's fees with respect

I hereby affirm I have read and fully understand the above. All of my questions have been answered to my satisfaction.
