Dioramas from Surinam
Starting on 22 October, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam will exhibit five dioramas and 19 individual figures made by Surinamese artist Gerrit Schouten (1779 1839). The dioramas, three of which were acquired in recent years, depict scenes from 19th-century Paramaribo, a plantation and a slave dance.

Rijksmuseum Schiphol Airport
To mark the 125th anniversary of the Rembrandt Society (Vereniging Rembrandt) the Rijksmuseum presents an exhibition of some of the finest drawings from the Dutch Golden Age at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. This selection of rarely exhibited Dutch drawings includes work by masters such as Peter Paul Rubens, Antony van Dyck, Jacob van Ruisdael and Rembrandt van Rijn.

Indian miniatures in the Van Gogh Museum
The Rijksmuseum is to show highlights from its collection of Indian miniatures in the Van Gogh Museum. The presentation is a voyage of discovery across India: the stylistic development of Indian painting from the 15th to the 19th centuries is illustrated by means of some fifty masterpieces.
