Derby County's squad for the 2008/09 Coca-Cola Championship campaign is taking further shape with the departure of forward Craig Fagan.

The 25-year-old has returned to his former club Hull City for £750,000 as Rams boss Paul Jewell prepares for a push on promotion back to the Premier League.

Jewell said: "Craig leaves with our best wishes and thanks for the hard work he put in at Derby County.

"I don't think it's any secret that Craig wanted to make this deal permanent and I believe it's a deal that benefits all parties involved - both clubs and the player."

The Rams have been the busiest Championship club in terms of transfers so far this summer with nine new faces already through the door.

Ruben Zadkovich, Paul Connolly, Nathan Ellington, Jordan Stewart, Kris Commons, Paul Green, Steve Davies, Martin Albrechtsen and Liam Dickinson will be hoping to help guide Derby back to the top-flight at the first attempt.

Adam Pearson, the Rams' chairman of football, added: "This is all part of the major re-structuring here and there is real progress behind the scenes in terms of bringing the new players we want to the club."
