WKD (Jun 2004 - Present)
D'Lyrium, Chris Echo, "Super" Sam Bailey &
Mya.
Factio Notes & Former Members: C-Juice & Roxi
are both former members. Juice turned on D'Lyrium after
blaming him for losing out on the Tag Titles at "Hold
Tight" 2006. Juice also showed undertones of jealousy
when Chris Echo joined the group. Juice left WKD join
SIN at Friday Night Fever 2006.
WKD are a group of youngster bonded by music. Their
first inception was D'Lyrium and C-Juice as two party
loving ravers, however the group extended to include
former Geek Elroy Doogle (now Chris Echo) as the WKD
boys endevoured to show him how to be cool. "Super"
Sam Bailey replaced Juice in the team after he left
the group for SIN. Party girl Mya joined up with the
group in September after Roxi had been injured by the
Mil-Anfield Connection after a powerbomb through a table.
Alans All Stars (Apr 2007 - Present)
Alan A.A Tasker (leader & manager), The Juggernaut,
"Iron" Mike Holmes, Jack Toxic & Cyanide
(Lethal Dose)
Faction Notes: Lawyer Alan A.A Tasker came to GPW with
huge fan fare as he brought with him former Nigerian
prisoner - Juggernaut. After securing Juggernauts release
from a man slaughter offence commited in Lagos he brought
the impressive, savage heavyweight to the GPW roster.
On his debut he defeated DDL for the British Title.
Taskers reputation grew and signed former Geek, Mike
Holmes to his books. Reportedly finding Holmes in a
dole queue in Warrington, he revived Holmes' career
and gave him a new motivation. He later brought in the
impressive tag team duo of Lethal Dose, Jack Toxic and
Cyanide after realising a gap in the tag team market.
Tasker quickly got his men a title shot and added them
to his books and to the GPW roster.
The Eastern Block (Mar 2008 - Present)
Twissie Ramonov, Thor Larson, Jak Domintrescu, Cristov
Egan
Faction Notes: After what he described as "discrimination"
on his debut at Friday Night Thriller II, Russian Romanov
brought some friends with him when he returned to GPW
for "Strictly Come WRESTLING!" in March 2008.
Norwegian, Thor Larson, Romanian Jak Domintrescu and
Latvian Cristov Egan are fellow members of the Eastern
Block currently in England as immigrints looking for
work. They have targeted GPW as a regular place of work
and have seemingly made a home for themselves on the
roster.
SIN (Sep 2004 - Sep 2007)
Heresy (leader), Minx, Joseph Hayes, Johnny Phere, Juice
Faction Notes: After recruiting Minx to keep an eye
on the fans Heresy then got into the mind of fan favoruite
Joey Hayes as he persuaded Hayes to turn on then good
friend and GPW Heavyweight Champion - TJ Cain. Hayes
became Joseph Hayes and along with both Heresy and Minx
declared that "Salvation Is Near". This signified
the first stage of SIN. At "Salvation Is Near"
May 2005, Heresy brought Johnny Phere to GPW as his
4th member. The 5th and final member joined the group
at "Friday Night Fever" in July 2006. Former
WKD member Juice turned on his tag team partner to become
a fully fledged SIN member. For all of 2007 the group
operated as a 4-man unit as Minx dissapeared from the
scene after Heresy declared that the Wigan had become
a place unsuitable for "ladies".
Problems with the group started when both Heresy and
Joseph Hayes were in competition for the #1 Contendership
to Damon Leigh's British Title. Heresy became wary of
Hayes as his popularity with the crowd increased with
every match. Hayes officially left the group when he
captured the British Championship from DDL in July 2007
at "Collision Course". Although the group
stayed together as a 3 man group for some weeks, the
final straw came in September 2007 at "Back To
School" when the 3 man SIN team lost to DDL, Joey
Hayes and Si Valour. Heresy blamed Juice and Phere for
the loss. SIN imploded and have been no longer ever
since.
The Geeks (Mar 2005 - Feb 2007)
Elroy Doogle (now Chris Echo), Rupert Holmes, George
Doogle (now Harry Doogle). Mike Holmes (now "Iron"
Mike Holmes)
Faction Notes: Elroy Doogle was once GPWs biggest fan
and a regular member of the audience. After being singled
out by Jiggy Walker several times, Doogle decided to
take up wrestling lessons in 2005. After enjoying the
classes he invited fellow school buddies Rupert Holmes
and George Doogle to join him. Soon all 3 had graduated
from the class and onto the roster. Former GPW referee,
Mike Holmes joined the group after it was revelaed he'd
broken GPW rules. It'd somehow escaped the HR Departments
notice that he was Ruperts' brother. He was releived
of his refereeing duties immediately as Mike joined
the active roster.
Damage Control (Jul 2003 - Apr 2006)
"The Dragon" Sean MaClean, Flood, "The
Truth" Greg Lambert (manager), Dom Travis
Faction Notes: Damage Control were first a two man group,
but after a feud with Pain Inc. where the winners gained
the services of managerial mastermind Greg "The
Truth" Lambert - the group became a 3 tier force.
With "The Truth" pulling the strings going
into his teams title bid at Hold Tight with WKD, Kev
n Krev and Project Ego he brought a 4th man into the
faction - Project Ego member Kris Travis cousin - Dom
Travis. The mind games didn't work and Damage Control
failed to win the match. Afterward the group were never
the same again and eventually went their seperate ways
when Lambert left the group and Travis moved to train
in Canada at the Lance Storm Academy. Original members
- Flood and Dragon stayed together for a while longer
until they eventually split when Flood took more than
a keen interest in Roxi and Dragon struggled on his
own.
