Svante Stockselius explains the new format

Three bids for Junior Eurovision 2009

With Cyprus to host the 2008 Junior Eurovision Song Contest edition and with the contest to turn into a very disappointing project since juries will be included in the voting by 50% aiming not to turn the contest into an Eastern Europe thing, three countries bid for the 2009 Junior Eurovision edition.

Ukraine, Belarus and Serbia are officially bidding to the European Broadcasting Union to host the 2009 JESC edition. It is clear that either a Balkan or an Eastern Europe country will be the 2009 host. With RTS been already the senior Eurovision host in 2008 it is highly unlikely to see JESC in Serbia. Most likely Belarus will host the JESC edition according to our estimations since the country has hosted no senior or junior editions yet and Ukraine already had a senior Eurovision hosting. It is interesting that no Western country is interested either to participate or host the show. Many estimate that Junior Eurovision is coming to an end.

The project is rediculous. They can't do in JESC what they do in ESC

Serbia certainly deserves it! Belarus does not have enough to offer! ESC008 is right...the Junior Eurovision song contest should take place in Serbia for its last edition!
