Some of the paths which take the visitor to the hill tops are challenging but there are also many paths that will suit the less active. For the wheelchair bound, the lovely canal path from Wharf Road in the centre of the village winds along the water's edge towards Weston Turville and beyond giving wonderful views to the Chilterns and the opportunity to be close to many species of wildlife. Also, in Wendover Woods, there are suitable routes close to the main car park where the public toilets have facilities for the disabled. All the paths are in good condition, thanks to the dedicated team of people who serve on the Footpaths Committee of the Parish Council as well as members of The Chiltern Society. There are many organised walks in the area and for advice of these and other countryside matters please contact the Community and Tourist Information Office at the Clock Tower.
Ramblers' GuidesA wide variety of guide books to interest those planning walks in and around the Wendover district are available from the Clock Tower. Alternatively send your request, including a SAE and your cheque made payable to Wendover Parish Council, to the address shown on our Tourist Information Centre page. | ||||
