End of an era

Press release:

Cheadle based independent games developer, Creative Asylum has closed its doors after more than five years. The closure is mostly due to the cancellation of a major product that was due for release on PS2 and GameCube and the difficulty in securing new work faced by a small team in the current industry climate.

Creative Asylums' team of eight staff are seeking new employment, though intend to stay in the games industry.

"We are very sad to see the end of something which we have all put a great deal of our lives into. We have greatly enjoyed the past 5 years working together as a team, and are extremely proud of the contribution we have made in our own small way to the gaming world." says Gary Switzer, Artist and Director.

Thanks go to everyone we've had the pleasure of working with over the past 5 years, on the whole we've had a lot of good times and are sad to have to call time on something we put our hearts and souls into. At the end of the day, we're extremely proud that we managed to hold our own in the industry for the past 5 years, and can look back on our efforts with a great deal of pride.
