Forbush
Elementary is a kindergarten through eighth grade school located in eastern Yadkin County.
It has a student population of approximately 400 that continues to grow.
The school's focus is on meeting the educational needs of all the
students. In cooperation with the community schools program, Forbush
Elementary has pre-school classes for 4 year olds. It also offers before
and after school care for students in grades K-8.
Our Mission Statement: Forbush Elementary will pursue academic excellence
and promote citizenship necessary for a successful future.
The
philosophy of Forbush
Elementary School is
based upon the concept that school and community must interact to develop
students as complete individuals who are able to function in society. It
is our desire and responsibility to instill in these young people the
importance of education so that learning does not stop at the school door but
becomes a continuing and lifelong process. Forbush Elementary believes
that success in education comes from a partnership between the students, the
parents, the teachers, and the community. We encourage everyone to attend
our yearly PTF meetings. These meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. on the
following dates: September 9, October 7,
December 9 (Christmas program), March 3 (annual business meeting), and May 5
(officer elections). Special programs performed by the students will
accompany some of these meetings. FES staff and students would like to say thank you to the
PTF for providing funds for the addition of the new covered walkway to the
front entrance of the school.

Yadkin County Schools introduces
the subscription of World Book Online
to staff, students, and parents. A
trusted resource for generations is now available online for use at school and
at home. Students have been given
information sheets containing the username and password. Anyone with questions, please contact the
media center.
