Masada watchtower. Masada comes from word metzuda, which means fortress. Masada is well known about it when in Jewish-Roman war all Jewish fighters made suicide. Romans were occupiers and they invade and conquer land of Israel about 63 B.C. Roman army led by Pompey and he made from Israel client kingdom of Rome. In 6 A.D. caesar Augustus made Israel as a province. In 66 A.D. started the Great Jewish Revolt, which lasted until 73 A.D. In 73 A.D. Jewish garrison made suicide and they all died after siege had lasted two months. We must unfortunately remember that 70 A.D Romans occupied Jerusalem and destroyed the Second temple, where more than 100,000 Jews died and nearly 100,000 became slaves in Rome. Many Jews fled to other Mediterranean countries.
