Joint Stock Telecommunications Company „Telekom Srbija“ a.d. with its head office in Belgrade, Takovska 2, was incorporated as a joint stock company in June 1997. Since 2003, Telekom Srbija a.d. has been owned by two shareholders: PE PTT Traffic „Srbija“ and OTE Greece.
PE PTT Traffic „Srbija“, i.e. the Republic of Serbia as the founder, has retained the “Golden Share” on the basis of which it has the right to veto on all strategic decisions of the Managing Board. The Managing Board is composed of the representatives of the two shareholders, and the number of members is proportionate to the equity share.
Apart from those already mentioned, business operations of „Telekom Srbija“ include physical and urban development planning, designing and building telecommunication facilities, data transmission services, ISDN, ADSL and Frame Relay services for business systems and business customers and services of direct access to Internet, Internet port leasing, telehousing services, calls free of charge, universal number access, additional tariff calls and televoting.
With its superior quality, high availability and reliability, Telekom Srbija is today an absolute leader in the region in the domain of Internet services, selling its services to 91 ISPs (Internet Service Provider) in Serbia and 12 ISPs in the region.
International network of Telekom Srbija - By means of its international telecommunication network capacities, Telekom Srbija provides services in the automatic international telephone traffic, telex traffic, services of renting capacities in transmission systems, data transmission services, direct connecting to global Internet network, as well as other services to our customers, to national telecommunication operators and internet providers, as well as to telecommunication operators and internet providers abroad.The international transmission systems of Telekom Srbija are directly connected to transmission systems of the neighbouring countries, and through them with the networks of telecommunication operators in almost all countries of Europe, with America and Australia.
For the needs of performing international telephone traffic, the international telecommunication network of Telekom Srbija is directly connected to telecommunication networks of 43 world telecommunication operators in 30 countries of the world.Telekom Srbija abroad - For the purpose to achieve maximum level of quality of its telecommunication services for the customers in the country as well as in the environment, Telekom Srbija strives to provide presence in telehouses (Point of Presence - POP) on those locations in Europe and the world, on which other large foreign voice and internet providers are present.

Apart form the mentioned, today Telekom Srbija is present in large rented capacities in the largest telecommunication centers in the world: - INFOPARK and DATAPLEX in Budapest,- INTERXION in Vienna,- 60 HUDSON Street in New York.
Under the GSM licence agreement of July 9, 1997, the Government of the Republic of Serbia authorized the Joint Stock Telecommunications Company Telekom Srbija a.d., as a licence holder, to establish, manage and provide the services of the public digital celular mobile telephony in the entire territory of the Republic of Serbia, according to GSM standards. On August 9, 1997, the Federal Ministry of Telecommunications assigned to Telekom Srbija a.d. for the period of validity of licence, frequencies in 900 MHz spectrum for introducing GSM system.The Mobile Telephony of Serbia has a market share of 65,21%;The Mobile Telephony of Serbia covers 91,31% of the territory excluding Kosovo or 89,13% with Kosovo .Population coverage without Kosovo is 97,02%, and with Kosovo is 92,00%.Roaming services are provided in 130 countries, in 285 networks of the foreign mobile operators.
Apart from standard services such as SMS and Roaming, the Mobile Telephony of Serbia has introduced to the market GPRS, EDGE, MMS, Wap Portal - MONDO and Corporative Access service;The Mobile Telephony of Serbia was the first to introduce to the market location services (LBS) and Friend 065 service where customer has the opportunity to choose a subscriber number;The Mobile Telephony of Serbia offers a wide spectrum of VAS - SMS and MMS services and the opportunity to send messages to the media - TV and radio;Camel-based roaming services are provided to its prepaid customers;Camel-based roaming services are provided to its prepaid customers;The Mobile Telephony of Serbia offers to its customers state-of the art solutions of modern mobile technology, m-payment (paying through mobile telephone - parking, Internet time top-up, etc.), e-recharge (possibility electronically to recharge prepaid credit by SMS messages at the counters of post offices and banks, on cash dispensers and POS terminals in sales outlets of MTS partners); At the end of the year 2003, the Mobile Telephony of Serbia was the first in Serbia and Montenegro to present 3G network in the trial stage. On 27 December 2006, third generation network was put into commercial operation.
