SLIPKNOT: '9.0 Live' Certified Gold - Jan. 6, 2006
SLIPKNOT's first full-length concert album, "9.0 Live", has been certified gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for shipments in excess of 500,000 copies. The CD, which was recorded at shows in Singapore, Japan, and Las Vegas, has sold 163,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

As previously reported, SLIPKNOT have been nominated for a Grammy for the sixth consecutive year. The single "Before I Forget" from the band's third album, "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)", was nominated for Best Metal Performance alongside songs by MINISTRY, MUDVAYNE, RAMMSTEIN and SHADOWS FALL — all bands that SLIPKNOT have toured with.

SLIPKNOT have yet to take home a Grammy trophy, having competed in previous years with such heavy-hitters as METALLICA.

The 48th Grammys will be awarded in a telecast Feb. 8 on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Listened to about 4 songs. Cory needs to find pitch. It's horrible. I'm actually kind of a Slipknot fan but I would have never released that pile. I saw them a couple times in support of their first major release and they were fantastic. They have gotten worse. Bands are supposed to PROGRESS not digress.

I think that it was just an easy way to help them towards fullfilling their contractural obligation to their record label.

The bit about it being filmed in Singapore and Japan is crap. All Corey ever shouts is 'Dallas', 'Vegas' and 'Phoenix'. Never says anything about the other places, unless that's just cause they won't understand him :-P

I love this album. I agree Corey's vocals are a bit off, but when you consider the amount of strain he has to put his voice through each and every night, you cannot expect him to sound like he does on the CD's. Go to and listen to the live recordings of 'Bother' and you will see that he CAN sing live extremely well, it's just with this he can't match the CD or else he woul rip his vocal cords out.

The guitar and drums on this are phenomenal, everything is perfect and crystal clear and you get the energy of their live performances. 8/10

I am a huge Slipknot fan. I love all their albums. Corey's vocals on this cd aren't that great, but the music is still fuckin' awesome and that's what really matters.

The first couple times I listened to it I didn't think it was special. But after a couple times now I really like it. The first couple songs on disc #1 are killer. Duality also came out really good. Still does not compare to the best live metal album EVER though...101 Proof.

The only album they have put out that i liked from front to back was the 1st one. Iowa had a few good songs but it didn't so a whole hell of a lot foe me. Vol. 3 I thought was better but even that I thought was boring, and it sounds a lot like Stone Sour. The thing that really did it for me was the last time I saw them, they were co-headlining the 2nd stage at Ozzfest and they were boring as shit. There was nodoy running around like they used to, Corey just stood there and was acting like he could care less that he was there. Lamb Of God, who was the co-headliner blew them away, and this is coming from someone that doesn't like Lamb Of God (I think everything sounds the same). That's sad. Now I know all the Slipknot fans will chastise me for this because the most obnoxious fans out there are Slipknot fans and Tool fans (you all act like they are the 2nd coming of christ, and this is coming from someone who likes Slipknot, Tool however sucks). This is just my opinion so go ahead blast away.

163,000 copies sold over-the-counter equals 326,000 units because it's a double album. So that leaves 87,000 copies sitting on shelves or sold through clubs. Not bad. Very impressive, actually for a live disc. They don't normally sell that well.

That's why he keeps talking about it. Man that was one of the best shows I've been too. And I go to the shows pretty frequently. That fucker was Bad ass shit. I didn't even dink any alcohol there ( cause I had to work the next day) And it was phenominal. And his voice sounds beat up, Bent, slightly shot, that's what I liked about the 9.0 album. It's a Killer album, and the arena says glendale, but you know were in FUCKIN' PHOENIX SHOW WAS THE SHIT!!!!

101 live is still the best live ever

9.0 is up there below though

I hope the band goes back to its Debut and Iowa-era Roots on the Next one, with the Rick Rubin Production values...!!

I got it the day it came out...easy purchase, the band offers a love it or hate it propostion ( the way it should be), with no room for posers / fencesitters !!!
