Robin Roberts Witnesses ‘Miracle’ Plane Crash

Friday January 16, 2009

Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts was an eyewitness to the crash of US Airways Flight 1549. The passenger jet made an emergency landing in the frigid waters of the Hudson River in New York City yesterday afternoon. The pilot’s quick thinking helped ensure that all passengers survived.

Roberts described what she saw to ABC Evening News’ Charlie Gibson last night.

Roberts watched the event, dubbed the “Miracle on the Hudson,” from the balcony of her apartment.

“It completely just hit the water full-force, never bounced or anything like that, and came to a relatively quick stop," she told Gibson. “But it didn’t skim along the water. There was very little trauma to the aircraft. I still can't believe what I saw.”

Fans of The View can now catch up with their favorite show online. ABC.com now offers full-episodes of the popular daytime talk show online. Previously, fans could only get snippets of the show.

The five most recent episodes will be made available -- and new episodes will be available the same day (though not online until 3 p.m. ET).

The View, along with soap General Hospital, are the first two daytime program to be offered full-length on ABC.com. The site offers more than a dozen of its primetime programs in full-length.

Be prepared to install a plug-in and quality will depend on your Internet speed, but the convenience is well worth it!

Conan The Traveler

Monday January 12, 2009

Late Night with Conan O'Brien talk show host Conan O'Brien is traveling across the United States to chat about his late shift from Late Night to the The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The redheaded host we love the most takes over the show in June.

He's visiting NBC stations in 40 markets. Chicago was his second stop on his continental tour. It's both a meet-and-greet and a farewell tour. O'Brien leaves Late Night in six weeks and Saturday Night Live alum Jimmy Fallon takes over shortly thereafter.

O'Brien will also leave New York City, where Late Night is based, to move west to California, where folks are hard at work designing and building the new Tonight Show set. That set will be almost twice the size of O'Brien's NYC set, though the host hopes to maintain the intimacy of the show with a small audience (about 400 people).
