Spotting is necessary for all kinds of turns in dance. By spotting, or keeping your eyes fixated on a single spot, you will be able to complete several rotations without becoming dizzy.

NBC's much anticipated dance show, "Superstars of Dance," begins on Sunday, January 4 with a two-hour premiere episode beginning at 9pm. The new show, hosted by Michael Flatley of "Lord of the Dance," brings together accomplished dancers from all over the world, each masters of their own style. Each country will showcase dance styles unique to their nations, in an Olympic-type competition.

Professional dancers Karina Smirnoff (30) and Maksim Chmerkovskiy (28) became engaged shortly before midnight on New Year's Eve. Chermkovskiy joined DWTS in season 2 and partnered with Misty May-Treanor last season. Smirnoff started in season 3, most recently teaming with Rocco DiSpirito.

Both dancers are expected to dance again in season 8, which kicks off March 9.
