Happy Easter!

Today was the playgroup's Easter egg hunt. There was a great turn out - about 25-30 moms and their kids! Val had so much fun. Not with the eggs, with trying to dig in everyone's things. I spent more time chasing after her and pulling her away from other people's diaper bags, food, and toys. She also wanted to play on the park equipment so bad, but there were too many big kids on it. A couple busses from a school were there also... If Val was walking maybe I would have let her, but with her crawling on the ground those kids would stumble right over her, step on her fingers, etc.. I'm pretty exhausted from chasing after her!! I still feel a little out of place in the group. Like an outsider. I'm still new and don't know that many moms very well. I don't really have anyone to talk to. It's hard to really talk to anyone while keeping close watch on Valerie though. I guess it will get better in time... Here's a few pics from today...

I'm so tired. Val did not want to sleep last night. I had choir practice, so I think my not being home threw her schedule off. Clint said she kept calling "mama" while I was gone. She was up countless times just whining. I tried everything, including putting her in our bed for a bit. She'd sleep for a bit, just kept waking up over and over!! And of course she was wide awake this morning earlier than her normal time. I just wish I knew what made her so restless! I hope she sleeps tonight since tomorrow is the big Easter Egg hunt.

Over the weekend I ran into a former co-worker. The first thing she said to me was that I had lost weight!!! Maybe if enough people tell me that I might start believing it.... or not. My high school friends told me the same thing and went on about how I was so much smaller now than in high school. I guess not many people can say that, so it must mean I'm doing something right!! Although lately I've been eating a ton of junk and I already bought too much Easter candy. It's for "Valerie" though... yeah right!!!!!

I need a bath.

We had such a great time at the play date today! I enjoyed it so much. I really like the moms. Valerie had so much fun just being around the other kids. We decorated our Easter egg containers, ate, and sat around chatting. I had my camera, but I never got a chance to take it out. I wish I would have. Valerie was so wired afterwards. She slept about 10 minutes on our way home and was up for hours bouncing off the walls. I'm surprised she went to sleep with out any fuss tonight. I'm glad too because I'm exhausted!!

Here I am, home alone while Clint is in Houston. It's just so... quiet. Especially at times like now when Val is asleep. I was really bad tonight and ordered myself a pizza. According to my order history online, the last time I ordered pizza was in February 2005!! So I guess it's ok to have some. Valerie ate some and liked it. Her first taste of pizza ever!!

Valerie did not want to sleep last night. I think the time change and Clint being away has thrown off her schedule. It was 10pm though and she was wide awake. Myself, on the other hand, was about to fall asleep standing up!! I put her in bed and let her cry for a while. Only she wasn't crying -- just yelling. When she's upset she gets red in the face and sweats. Her hair is usually soaked. I think seeing her like that bothers me more than her yelling. Finally I gave up and let her watch a little tv and have a snack. Then I gathered up all the pillows around the house to block the edge of our bed so she could lay down with me. Don't you know as soon as I put her next to me and turned out the light she layed down and went to sleep!! I let her sleep for about an hour before bringing her to her bed. She slept all night after that!

Tomorrow we're going to a playgroup event at someone's house. We're going to make Easter baskets out of milk jugs. I hope it's fun -- for me and Valerie! Next week is an Easter egg hunt at the park.
