THE MELVINS To Release 'A Senile Animal' In October - July 18, 2006
THE MELVINS have set "A Senile Animal" as the title of their new album, due on October 10 via Ipecac Records. The band's first recording with new members Coady Willis (drums) and Jared Warren (bass) from BIG BUSINESS was recorded in Los Angeles.

Commented mainman Buzz Osborne: "I'm very pleased with the results and I can't wait to play this stuff live."

THE MELVINS' most recent release was the "A Live History of Gluttony and Lust" CD, which came out in May 2006 through Ipecac Recordings. It is a live rendition of their 1993 "Houdini" album.

I'd be happy to have Dale in my band. Why the fuck do they need two drummers?

Oh well. The Melvins have always been weird and have always ruled.

Melvins. Ask for it by name.

I am curious to hear this two drummer thing. Big Business is killer and so are the Melvins. However, it's gonan take a lot to have me accept someone else playing drums in there as well.

All Hailz Zee Melvinzzz

I saw them during their 2003 Hostile Ambient Takeover tour and Dale's drumming was earth shattering. I've been to lots of shows over the past 18 years, and I don't think I ever witnessed anyone hit their drums as hard as Dale Crover. I thought his drums were going to explode... no exaggeration.

There are plenty of other Melvins albums to praise, but this one's a gem. Fucking way out there. Dale Crover hits the kit like a Muslim husband. Even when these guys do wrong, they do no wrong.

OK, WAIT! Where the fuck is Dale? Are you telling me that he's not playing the drums on this new release at all? People don't buy it!!!!! If that's the case, It's going to seriously suck . They really need to do another album without the fucking useless noise and make some shit like the old days, remember OZMA?

All I gotta say is Dale and Dave Lombardo, 2 kits, same stage. AWESOME!!!!!!

And for all you Patton Haters, here's food for thougt, if it wasn't for Mike, you wouldn't have anymore new Melvins records. And that is a fucking fact. Not only does Patton make great music, he provides an avenue for other great projects to see the light of day. Isis will be the next band everyone is raving about.

Like him or not, Mike is the most important person in the music industry ever. EVER. Before you say I'm wrong or an asshole. Go to ipecac.com and read how the label was formed. Then sample all the different artists on that site. Then name one other person in the industry who is responsible for funding this much music independent from a major record label.

So you may not like him or his music, but because of him, you will still be able to listen to unfiltered music 30 years from now. We, as music fans, owe him a debt of grattitude.

And that's a fucking fact.

...person in the music industry EVER??? C'mon man, you can't really be serious. I have much respect for the guy, and I like a lot of what he's done, and true, he's really put himself out there for a lot of artists who wouldn't be given a chance, otherwise. But to make the claim that he's the most important person in the music industry ever is a bit silly. It's just silly.

certainly would have found a label to put out whatever they had recorded, regardless of Ipecac's existence or not. And Patton seems like a nice busy dude whose overall thing I don't much like
but I don't think he is single handily responsible for anything, except the music he puts out.

I can't wait for this. That FantomasMelvins Big Band thing turned out great, so I think that fusing the two drum sets together should work very well, as Coady is one hell of a drummer, no doubt about it. This should rock very hard.
