Fluid Entertainment Launches Emerald Island

Fluid Entertainment announced today the launch of its eco-themed virtual world for kids 6-12, Emerald Island. The project was first announced in February, before picking up $3.2 million from Trinity Ventures in March and launching to open beta in August. The world features a storyline asking children to save Emerald Island through quests, minigames, and raising their own gardens, all with an educational componenet. My beta account isn't working for some reason, but signing up again doesn't feel too bad: through a partnership with Trees for the Future, Fluid Entertainment will donate 10 trees for every new registration received over the next 30 days.
