Naccara
to Serve as FSD at Logan International
Washington, D.C. -- U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Y. Mineta today announced retired Coast Guard Rear Admiral George Naccara will serve as Federal Security Director at Logan International Airport in Boston.
"We are very lucky to have George Naccara working for us in Boston,” said Secretary Mineta. “He will be our personal representative, responsible for ensuring the safety of our skies and fulfilling the Transportation Department’s role in the war on terrorism.”
"I am delighted that George Naccara has agreed to join the team at Logan Airport," said Governor Jane Swift. "Rear Admiral Naccara's knowledge of Massachusetts and of Boston will be a tremendous asset as he joins the many talented men and women who are working to make Logan a model of airport safety."
Naccara’s original assignment was to Dulles International Airport in Virginia. Naccara most recently served as the Commander of the First Coast Guard District. A 1969 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, he served at sea for nearly six years including assignments as executive officer and commanding officer aboard Coast Guard cutters.

The
efficient implementation, performance and enhancement of security and
screening standards for airport employees;
Airport
security risk assessments;
Supervision
of federal law enforcement activity within the purview of the Transportation
Security Administration (TSA); and
Organizing
and implementing the Federal Security Crisis Management Response Plan for
each airport.
