a) 2007 ISAF World Championships
Approximately 75%* of each event's entry quota shall be qualified from that event's 2007 ISAF
World Championships.
b) 2008 World Championships
Approximately 25%* of each event's entry quota shall be qualified from that event's 2008 World
Championships sanctioned by ISAF, to finish 1 June 2008 at the latest. Those NOCs already
qualified from the previous qualifying events shall not be considered.
c) Host nation
The host nation shall directly qualify a boat in each event.
d) Tripartite Commission (IOC-ANOC-ISAF) Invitation places
NOCs may apply for Tripartite Commission Invitation places. However, no places will be allocated
for such Invitations within the sailing quota.
The deadline for NOCs to submit their requests for Tripartite Commission Invitation places is 15
November 2007. The Tripartite Commission will confirm, in writing, a preliminary allocation of
Invitation places to the NOCs by 31 January 2008. The allocation of remaining Invitation places will
be confirmed, in writing, to the NOCs by July 2008.
Should the Tripartite Commission identify Invitation requests which meet the identified criteria,
these may be matched with any returned quota places in agreement between the ISAF and the
IOC, in accordance with the principles identified in "Reallocation of Unused Quota Positions".
* The number of qualifying NOCs, based on the percentages in (a) and (b) above, is rounded off as
stated in the summary table.
