Jennifer Lopez Has a Killer Butt. Literally

jenlopezbooty.jpg
Update: Splash News reports fake doctor Sharhonda Lindsay turned herself into police in Tampa, Florida this morning. Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has charged the 32-year-old with two counts of practicing medicine without a license.

J.Lo has an offensive weapon. Not her voice, sillies. Her butt!

In fact, her rump should be presented with manslaughter charges right about now. Two women says they have suffered organ failure after some sort of unlicensed maniac allegedly issued them with cosmetic injections destined to create J.Lo-esque bottoms. Between them, Andrea Lee and Zakiya Teagle received 60 shots of what police think was industrial strength silicone (i.e., the stuff meant to hold glass together, not bodies) within a 90 minute period. Hours after this craziness, the women were rushed to a Florida hospital with critical injuries.

MusicToob reports that Lee's mother, Dorethea Belnavis, said her daughter was in a critical condition in a Tampa hospital after suffering damage to her liver, kidneys and lungs."She's fighting for her life right now," said Belnavis. The person who allegedly administered the injections is 32-year-old Sharhonda Lindsay, who has since gone on the run.

Kanye West "There's a Lot of Gay People That I Dress Way Better Than"

Posted by Ryan Brockington at 10:13 AM on February 10, 2009

Tracked under: newsnews

Kanye West has an opinion on everything, obvi, and this week: gay people!

Kanye actually went as far as criticizing some of his peers for being uncomfortable with homosexuality. "People are so gay-conscious now," he told MTV, referring to those who are "scared" of gay people, or of being perceived as gay. "That's, like, the whole thing, like, with the Internet -- every day [is like], 'Oh I can tell he gay now!'"

kanyeinset.jpgKanye shrugged off a recent homophobic diss by 50 Cent, saying he was "authentic," "natural" and "confident with [his] manhood," Musictoob reports. I'm glad he took time out of his busy shoe pimping schedule to give us his thoughts on the gays, and now Kanye West can, and I quote: "go to Paris [and] have conversations with people who are blatantly gay."

"But back in the day, people used to have songs like 'Get In That Ass' or something like that. Someone would never make a song like that [today] because they'd be like 'Whoa! I can't make no song like that! People gonna call me gay!'"

Don't worry though. Kanye hasn't forgotten how to inject a bit of self-love into any subject and regrets having once said that "gays really know how to dress." Because everyone knows they do, along with watching Ellen, interior decorating and arranging flowers.

"That's when I was ignorant to gays," he said to MTV, "Because there's a lot of gay people who don't dress good at all. There's a lot of gay people that I dress way better than."

Oh Kanye, your interviews are a lot like the Lion King, the birth of a new subject, the adventure of that subject and its ups and downs, then the death of that subject which leads us back to your pride rock. The circle of life my friends, the circle of life.

PopTracks News: Our Super Powers Are Growing

poptracksnews.jpg

PopTracks may have super human hearing, but PopWrap has the power of premonition when it comes to entertainment news, so what better than to join forces!

Most of the time, superheros are most powerful when they are given the chance to concentrate on the task at hand, call on their power, and then blow up something with their mind (powers vary.) However, making a cool team of heroes, sewing together tight outfits ala "Mystery Men" is so much cooler.

On Feb. 23, PopWrap is gonna get all fancy up in this mug. Jarett (the voice behind the original PopWrap,) and myself are merging our content into one river of up-to-the-minute goodness. But as of now, I will slowly be delivering you more content on PopWrap (like today's Britney Spears Journals Excerpts,) to get the ovens all toasty.

"What does that mean for me!" You may selfishly be asking your computer monitor? It means easier access to all of our stories, better music news, more tv coverage and interviews from jazzy TV, film and music stars.

So rev up your imagination, envision me in some hideous black leotard with a red R on my chest and a swirly haircut, and mark your Google calendar ... because this may be the coolest superhero group since the Shirt-Tails.

Paris Hilton Wants to Pounce on Prince Harry

Posted by Ryan Brockington at 10:24 AM on February 9, 2009

Tracked under: newsnews

parishilton.jpgParis Hilton nearly scored a date with a newly single Prince Harry over the weekend, but presumably to the collective relief of the royal family in Britain, it was not meant to be. Harry -- possibly on the advice of some sort of Buckingham Palace propaganda machine -- canceled the American socialite at the last minute. [MusticToob]

If Diana lowered the tone, what would Paris do for it? Paris received a call from Harry's bodyguard, mere hours before their midnight rendezvous, to say that the Prince was not coming to London. A source told the Daily Mail: "Paris had spoken directly with Harry to arrange their meeting. She was pretty annoyed that Harry blew her out but they may meet on her next trip to London." Even Paris needs her dreams, huh?

New M.I.A. Song Makes You Feel Like Thunder: Download

mia2.jpgOK, so it's not an actual new song, but Death to the Throne may have remixed/mashed/blended the perfect amounts of M.I.A. to make you get your ass off the couch.

Death to the Throne broke the music-blog barrier with their remix of Lykke Li's "Little Bit." Now they've gone and named this M.I.A. remix "New M.I.A. Song" to see just how many people would loose their coconuts over it.

Pureeing up the vocals from M.I.A. killer singles "Pull Up The People," "Bucky Done Gun" and "Jimmy," this new remix drops just in time for all this post-Grammy hype. Maybe she will play it to her new baby. I would love to see that go down. Download the song after the jump.

Lady Sovereign Second Single "So Human" is The Cure For Boredom: Listen

Posted by Ryan Brockington at 9:14 AM on February 9, 2009

Tracked under: melikeymelikey

ladysovereign.jpgLady Sovereign is about to do a cannonball right into M.I.A. and Santogold's public pool.

Miss Lady will release her latest CD "Jigsaw" via her new label, Midget Records, in partnership with EMI on April 7 (April 6 in the UK). It includes collaborations with club jammer producers Dr. Luke (who produced her mega-hit "Love Me or Hate Me"), Medasyn and Benny Blanco.

At the end of 2008 I brought you her schizophrenic music video for "I Got You Dancing," where she goes from Indian to '80s hair-rocker in under 60 seconds.

Now she has released her second single, "So Human," off her yet to be released EP. "So Human" samples the Cure classic "Close To Me." Whether this will translate into a phenomi-hit like M.I.A.'s Clash-sampling song "Paper Planes" is yet to be determined But one thing is certain -- if M.I.A and Santogold will have her, she is ready to be the frothy center in their 3 Musketeers.

In an interview with Pitchfork Magazine, Sovereign called "I Got You Dancing" "an early Christmas gift" and said this about Jigsaw: "The album is the next chapter. It's a massive leap forward for mankind!"

After the jump, get the full track listing from her new CD, and listen to her second single, "So Human."

The Grammys: The Outfits, The Performances & The Winners

Posted by Ryan Brockington at 10:23 AM on February 7, 2009

Tracked under: newsnews | poptopspoptops

grammywrap.jpg
No Rihanna, no Chris Brown and tons of scandal, the 2009 Grammys started off all-kinds of juicy. Then came the performances, the winners (Adele!), the fashion and the mounds of hobb-nobbing ... it was like the Grammys was some sort of High School Prom, and all of us at home had to chaperone.

The one good thing about being a prom chaperone? No messy hangover. I'm bright and bushy-tailed this morning and ready to give you all the best from last night's mega-show. First we'll start with the looks people choose, then after the jump I'll talk about the performances and run down the list of winners in each category. So, pop some Alka-Seltzer, turn off your ringer and try not to dry-heave because were about to get all up in the 2009 Grammys.

The Outfits (Gallery)
paula.jpgPaula Abdul may have mugged an Egyptian gypsy in an alleyway for her yellow and gold "dress." Honestly, she has outdone herself with this one, folks. The dress was dripping with gold shrouds on the top shoulder and yellow flowing madness down to the floor ... I have a feeling she picked out the dress based on the color pills she was going to take that day.

Flo-Rida and Ryan Seacrest threw fake money up in the air and then pretended to catch it, by the looks of Flo-Rida's face ... I think he hates Ryan ... a lot.

Ne-Yo was sporting sunglasses and a suit (shocker) and he came with his girlfriend ... Ryan asked them if they have kissed each other ... and then he pushed her on the foursquare black-top (jokes!) Leona Lewis looked smokin' ... it's like if Stacy Dash ("Clueless") has a hotter, younger sister. She did, however, look a little uncomfortable in that gold dress.

Estelle was wearing an awesome silver sleeveless number with TONS of diamonds and eyeshadow to match. And  L.L.Cool J looked amazing in his classic Kangol and shades combo, and he may have gotten a new facial regimen.

mileytaylora.jpgMiley Cyrus was wearing a black dress, not sticking her tongue out and sporting killer jewelry and a hot date ... Taylor Swift. Taylor walked up next to Miley in a low cut black dress and chandelier earrings looking flawless. Swift gabbed with gal pal Seacrest about her concert in L.A. selling out in 2 minutes ... Miley looks pissed as hell. Awesome. Then up walks Miley's mom, shocks-ville. Hey Miley, this is the red carpet, not Applebee's, get a little class.

Leann Rhymes was in a cute Cerulean blue/gold dress with tons of beading, I love her, but did you forget to do your hair Rymesy-pie? Another one I love, Jordin Sparks, was wearing a curtain, maybe from her grandmother's house ... she says it's from Debra Davenport's in Arizona, but I'm convinced it's from Nana's living room. T-Pain had on a huge hat and a mustard shirt with a maroon jacket and chocolate over coat, he is probably the only person who could wear that and not look like a jackass.

carriea.jpgCarrie Underwood was in a gold, tight, shiny, hot as hell dress ... and she looked amaze-balls. She brought her winner envelope from last year's Grammys, which was adorable. However, that high ponytail and caramel clutch, umm.... not so great. Katy Perry walked up in a tight bubblegum soft-pink dress with a flower on the side, and a lazy right eye. What's going on with your eye, Katy, it's hypnotizing me.

Fantasia looked shockingly great, in a black and white beaded dress. While Lupe Fiasco showed off his LV black shoes, along with his dope black tux and a white bow tie. Is it weird that I want the entire outfit, down to his eyeglasses?
Sara Bareilles sported an adorable pink puffy dress with a red belt, and talked about her flask-sipping ... classy.

Now to two hot UK gals with one name. Adele almost fell over in her high heels and green cape, which would be kind of funny. We all know how much I love her. She took off the cape to show a nice black dress with a center broach tie and a thick black belt -- gorgeous. And Duffy wore a black dress with tons of mesh and a high bun ... Oh, and she assumed Seascrest was gay (duh.) She tried to bond with him about Leo Dicaprio being hot, I love her even more.

mia22.jpgOh look, it's tons of blue! M.I.A. was as preggers as octomom, wearing an awesome tye-dyish looking smock, but it looked sooo great. Sheryl Crow had on a blue sheet. Duanne Johnson was there for some reason in a blue suit. Will.I.Am wore a powder blue jacket and a green hat, I'm not sure how I feel about that Dumb and Dumber outfit. John Mayer sported a blue tie and purple shirt, and a boring attitude, blah. Ryan asked John if they could hang more often, John avoided the question, I may like him more now.

jhudsona.jpgJennifer Hudson looked so brilliant. Her hair was tight and back, her skin was glowing and perfect and her neutral black and white dress may be my favorite look tonight. Chris Martin and the rest of Coldplay sported a Sgt. Peppers look with those crazy colored jackets, but they opted for black pants and boots ... way to change it up, boys. T.I. was in a light brown suit and he looked ridiculously handsome, with a suit that fit him perfectly. Paris Hilton, on the other hand, is wearing some sort of hyper-colored Forever 21 dress. Way to class it up Paris.

The Jonas Brothers looked dapper in all black tuxes, the middle sister's was shiny ... she's always gotta be a little different. On the other side of the coin, Kings of Leon brought it full force, rocking classic black suits and dark blues and grays underneath. I think these guys are the prime example of a classic rock band. They are such a great way to end the red carpet, now lets get to the performances and winners, shall we?

'Bad Girl' Single: Rihanna Vs. Pussycat Dolls

Posted by Ryan Brockington at 8:21 AM on February 6, 2009

Tracked under: leakedleaked

bandgirls.jpg
Are the Pussycat Dolls lapping up Rihanna's left over Milk, or are they just plain better?

On Jan. 6 a "new" Rihanna track threw up all over the Internet, including PopTracks. I brought you a first listen of the track, and reported that it would be on the "Confessions of a Shopaholic" soundtrack. Then, last night the premiere of the movie took place here in New York, one of the take-home gifts ... none other than the soundtrack itself.

But when I opened that puppy up, began to import into my library of songs and watched the little hours glass twirl away, I noticed something awfully funny. The Chris Brown co-writtin song "Bad Girl" that Rihanna sang so fiercly in January, exsist as track 9 on the soundtrack -- but it's not recorded by Rihanna.

Instead, the Pussycat Dolls are listed as the artist, and as much as I wanted to believe it was a typo, I pressed play, and there was Nicole Sclaggideeburg and her kittens singing away. I mean I get all the talks about the RiRi version being a "demo" but it's Rihanna, they don't get her to come in and record demos, they get the girl at the front desk who's been wanting to break into the biz to lay down a couple of choruses.

So, as for the audio Houdini act that just took place, I hate it, I really really hate it. Come on, Hollywood, what gives? The Rihanna track was just fine, the appearance by Chris Brown during the bridge was bouncy enough for me to get my worm on and R's vocals meshed like biscuits and gravy with those lyrics. Now I have to listen to some overproduced vocals by a pack of hyenas and their booty-slap noises (minus Ashley Roberts, I love me some Ashley.)

In all validity, taking a look at the list of producers of this song helped me gain some solid ground. Polow Da Don produced "Buttons," the biggest hit for PCD and he lended his talents to other chart topping artist like Ne-Yo, Nelly, Ciara ... and you guessed it -- Chris Brown. So it's safe to say that they probably have some big bucket of balls in the studio with everyone's name on them, and every morning Polow walks in, puts on his "hit maker" glove and reaches elbow deep into the artist bucket to pick who gets what tune that day. I guess Rihanna's ball was at the bottom on "Bad Girl" day.

Any-nuts, go see "Confession of a Shopaholic," if not for the adorable Isla Fisher, then for the killer soundtrack (in stores on Feb 17.) It includes songs by Kat DeLuna, Lady GaGa and Macy Gray just to jot down a few. And, take a listen to both tracks below and let me know which one you think should have been on the soundtrack.

You Need To Know: Florence and the Machine

Posted by Ryan Brockington at 8:10 PM on February 5, 2009

Tracked under: melikeymelikey | musicvidsmusicvids

florenceandthemachine.jpgCrowned NME Magazine's No. 1 band to see last summer and best new act of last year's SXSW, Florence And The Machine's debut EP is bound bounce 21-year-old Florence Welch's status straight to the 'One To Watch" list.

I remember a year ago, hearing her cover of Cold War Kids "Hospital Beds" made my jaw drop like a yo-yo -- and now, she's released two singles on the independent Moshi Moshi label (once home to Hot Chip and Kate Nash, both of whom I want to open mouth smooch.) The first was a song called "Kiss With A Fist" that pretty much tells the story of the tune via the title, with tons of silly violence verbiage.

Then there's the sampling of sounds I haven't heard since M.I.A in her other single "Dog Days." Now signed to Island Records, home of Amy Winehouse, Florence looks like she is ready to bite off a huge chunk of 2009, leaving only the circl-y part of the 9 number and chomping the rest all the way to the bank.

Here's a look-see at the bound to be bagillionaire, Florence and the Machine.

Little Boots Fills Some Big Shoes: Video

Posted by Ryan Brockington at 7:28 PM on February 5, 2009

Tracked under: musicvidsmusicvids | poptopspoptops

little_boots.jpgLittle Boots is filling some big shoes by becoming my new favorite blonde diva.

Lady Gaga was all "2008," and is honestly starting to bug. Duffy will always live in my heart as my fave golden gal and may flip-flop as my fave. But as of this moment, IAMSOUND's Little Boots has me.

Some may remember when I gave you a glimpse of her last year on Bumps On The Humps via PopWrap, but now ... she is bigger than a Katie Holmes' cold-sore. Not only am I loving her, but it looks like the world is starting to embrace her as well. This week LB made her LA debut with a performance at Club NME Los Angeles, and URB.com released a video of it!

By the looks of the vid, the petite singer kicked some fan-fanny with songs from her debut EP including "Magical" and "Mathematics." Victoria Hesketh (LIttle Boots herself) seemed to win over the packed house, which was rumored to included Mika, members of No Doubt and Lily Allen producer Greg Kurstin.

In the below video of her performance, Victoria says, "This is exciting. It's my first proper gig in LA." I LOVE when Brits say proper, it makes me think of manners ... which make me think of Cruise ships, for some reason. She went onto say "I come to LA quite a lot so it feels like a homecoming even though I've never played here."

She makes me want to hold a puppy and lick a lollipop while riding on a unicorn. Yeah, she's that fantastic. Take a look, and tell me I'm wrong.

Did Springsteen Pull One Over On Us?

springsteen3.jpg
On the coat-tails of the Jennifer Hudson karaoke routine at the Super Bowl, Springsteen seems like he may have been next on the lip-sync que. Despite assuring fans he would not "phone it in" for his half-time show performance at this year's Super Bowl, rumors are swirling that Springtseen performed to pre-recorded tapes.

"The Super Bowl performances are all on tape," said producer of Super Bowl pre-game entertainment Hank Neuberger. "There is no way you can set up a full band in five minutes with microphones, get all the settings right, and expect to get quality sound," he said. "The Super Bowl has been doing that for years with virtually all the bands." MusicToob reports Springsteen, a byword in the music industry for musical authenticity, has yet to respond.

I, for one, don't beleive it. "The Boss" is no pansy-ass lip syncer! He swung that guitar, yelled those lyrics and fell into the camera all nat-u-ral. Right? What do you think?

T.I. On Jail "After So Long, Everybody Just Inmates"

Posted by Ryan Brockington at 9:42 AM on February 5, 2009

Tracked under: newsnews | poptopspoptops

tiblender.jpg

One thing I love about music magazines is that they clue you in on the best new tracks, tell you great bands to look out for and every now-and-then, you get one of those free CD insert thingies. But in the March 2009 issue of Blender, they press pause on the ole tuner, and gives us a gritty look into T.I.'s last days before heading to jail for a year.

With three No. 1 singles on the Billboard charts ("Whatever You Like," "My Love" with Justin Timberlake and "Live Your Life" featuring Rihanna,) the man knows the feeling of success. Now, it's time for him to pack away his pride, right next to his toothbrush.

On Oct. 13, 2007, T.I. was arrested in an Atlanta parking lot as he attempted to purchase unregistered machine guns and silencers. The Grammy-nominated rapper, who already owned nine guns (a problem for a convicted felon) pled guilty and was sentenced to a year and a day in prison. T.I. sat down to chat with Blender in his Atlanta home where he is under 24-hour surveillance, and tells the story of the "pain and paranoia" that led him down the road to incarceration.

tiblender2.jpg

On How It All Began:
While in Cincinnati in 2006, T.I. and his crew were hanging in a V.I.P. section when a fight broke out with a jealousy-crazed club-goer. T.I. and his people left the club and got in their van, which was shot at, taking the life of T.I.'s oldest friend and personal assistant. "If I'd had a firearm that day, that wouldn't have happened. The one time I needed a gun, I didn't have one. If I'd had a tool, I would've at least kept them from being able to get the absolute drop on us. Once they pulled up on the side of us, I woulda let loose, and that woulda kept us from bein the attackees. If I'd have done things the way I know how to do 'em, this wouldn't have happened."
