Live for genuine punk rock from back in the day? You now have reason to get to one of Warped Tour’s local dates this summer.
Festival mastermind Kevin Lyman has revealed on the event’s site that not only will Warped’s Old Skool stage be revived with its most retro-loaded assemblage yet, the sweaty, moshing madness also will make its way across California, with such stages added to the kickoff on June 26 at the Pomona Fairplex, as well as stops in San Francisco, Ventura, Mountain View, Sacramento, Chula Vista and L.A.
Slated to appear, though not necessarily all of these bands at every Cali Warped date:
Guttermouth, the Exploited, the Adicts, Manic Hispanic, UK Subs, the Dickies, D.I., T.S.O.L., the Duane Peters Gunfight, DOA, Total Chaos, Flipper (!), Channel 3, Punk Rock Karaoke and Fishbone. (I dunno … Guttermouth old-school? They have been together 20 years. But still …)
“I don’t think it gets much better than this for a fan of punk rock,” says Lyman. Well, there are ways. But yeah … that just gave me reason to go to the Pomona opener.
