Derby County striker Rob Hulse scored two quickfire goals as the Rams swept past Plymouth Argyle at Home Park.
The visitors went in front two minutes before the break when Gary Teale's 25-yard rocket crashed in off the bar.
Nigel Clough's side doubled their lead almost straight from the restart, Kris Commons crossing for Hulse to slot home his 12th goal of the season.
Minutes later Hulse converted Teale's cross from close range to make it five goals in six games.
Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock: "I didn't think there was much in it in the
first half, but we can't buy a win at home at the moment.
"Their second goal, coming just seconds into the second half, took the wind right out of our sails.
"Up until then I thought it was pretty even, and that we might have gone in
1-1 or 0-0 at half time but not one down."
Derby manager Nigel Clough: "It was a very good, solid away performance.
"To get the three goals was a bonus but the clean sheet was the most important
thing today, and that's what we asked the lads for before the game.
"The players deserve an awful lot of credit. This time last time last week for a few hours we were in the bottom three. Nobody likes being down there."
